Conor McGregor told he will "never" win another UFC title ahead of comeback

Conor McGregor has been told he doesn't stand a chance of ever winning another UFC world title.

UFC legend McGregor is expected to make his comeback fight against Michael Chandler after coaching against the American on TV show The Ultimate Fighter last year. No event or date has yet been announced for the fight but McGregor wants it to take place at the end of June after missing out on UFC 300 in April.

Over four years have passed since McGregor's last UFC win, whilst Chandler is also without a win in almost two years. UFC veteran Matt Brown said of McGregor on The Fighter vs. The Writer: "He did a lot of great things. He was an amazing fighter. He’s not getting back to a title ever. The only reason he would have to come back is his ego. He doesn’t need the money. It would be only ego.

"He’s not going to get a belt again and he knows that. He’s not a dumb person, he talks a lot of s*** but he’s not a dumb person. He’s a very, very intelligent person. He knows he’s not coming back to get a belt ever again. So what’s the point of coming back and fighting? What is the point? It’s pretty obvious. I don’t think it’s some mystical f****** Nostradamus s***.

"The dude’s got hundreds of millions in the bank. Would you fight if you had hundreds of millions in the bank? Conor’s going to come back and fight for what $10, $15 or $20 million? On top of that, Conor comes back he’s fighting for the UFC. He’s fighting young, hungry f****ng lions. Chandler’s a f****ng lion. When you fight in the UFC, every fight is a risk, especially at Conor’s level."

Over a year has passed since McGregor and Chandler's fight announcement and UFC boss Dana White has named autumn as the new targeted date for the clash. The promotion's head honcho recently pointed to McGregor's injury and his huge amount of wealth as two reasons for the delay of his return.

When asked if McGregor is healthy enough to fight, White told Kevin Iole: "I don’t know that. Only Conor knows that. These are questions for Conor McGregor, not me. I know he’s training. I don’t know what level of training he’s doing. I don’t know what level of kicking he’s doing right now. I don’t know any of that stuff. I need to know the guy is in a full camp and that he is ready to go.”
