The Chase fans blown away as they spot 'Hollywood star' on quizzing show
The Chase viewers were left gobsmacked as they instantly 'recognised' one
Bradley Walsh welcomed a fresh foursome to combat one of Britain's biggest boffins in the new episode of the beloved quiz show as they battled it out to win a substantial amount from one of the brainy Chasers.
The team was made up of 62-year-old sustainability consultant Nigel from Stowmarket, 34-year-old translator Anna from Nottingham, 45-year-old nurse Viji from London, and 53-year-old machine operator Mel from Sunderland. They tried their luck against Paul Sinha, also known as 'The Sinnerman'.
Nigel was first off the blocks, answering an amazing five questions correctly during his cash-builder segment. He brought £5,000 back to the team after accepting The Sinnerman's middle offer.
Before that though, he had a chat with Bradley about his job and how he might use any winnings. When asked about his role as a sustainability consultant, Nigel said, "It takes all this stuff about carbon and the environment and makes it as simple as possible so that businesses can see what they need to do to make the planet safer for the future".
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesAs for how he'd spend his prize money, Nigel told Bradley: "If it was up to me, I'd buy a classic car but my wife would want me to spend it on our 30th wedding anniversary, which is later this year". To this, Bradley immediately replied: "Let's do that".
During the episode, a lot of The Chase fans shared their thoughts on how Nigel had a striking resemblance to a famous Hollywood star. One viewer posted on X, previously known as Twitter, writing: "Anthony Hopkins in seat one".
Similarly, a second stated: "Seat 1" along with a gif of Anthony Hopkins. Meanwhile, a third went on to ask others: "Anyone else think he looks like Sir Anthony Hopkins??" Another went on to pen: "The guy on tonight looks like Anthony Hopkins #thechase." Elsewhere on the show, fans were left raging over one huge blunder on the programme.
During Val's cash builder round, fans noticed that one question appeared to be wrong. He was asked: "Actress Queen Latifah added a clause to her contracts stating that any character she plays cannot do what?" The answers included Drive, Dance or Die. Mel chose dance which was incorrect. Instead, the right answer was supposedly Die.
But one viewer noticed that Queen Latifah had supposedly died during one film. Responding on X, one penned: "@ITVChase clarification on the Queen Latifah question. As I've seen her in a film called Set It Off where she dies shortly before the end." Another added: "That's what I was thinking! And she drives in that film also." A third typed: "Yep, absolutely correct."
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITVX.
