Molly-Mae Hague confesses she's been through 'really hard time' with Tommy Fury
Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has candidly opened up about a struggle that rocked her relationship with fiancé Tommy Fury.
The 24-year-old reality star has been engaged to fellow Love Island alum Tommy - who she met on the show in 2019 - since July last year and they also share a one-year-old daughter named Bambi together. Last year, their happy romance appeared to be rocked as Molly-Mae was snapped without her engagement ring on after 24-year-old Tommy had been spotted partying in Dubai with controversial rapped Chris Brown.
Molly-Mae was said to be ‘mortified’ over Tommy’s partying ways and was snapped without her dazzling engagement ring on a number of occasions. But more recently, the pair had looked as loved up as ever - and marked their daughter’s first birthday with a lavish celebration last month.
Now Molly-Mae has hinted that her relationship with Tommy really was in trouble last year. However, she has explained that it was the fact he needed surgery on his hand that caused an issue - with the injury affecting his boxing career.
Speaking in a YouTube video, the couple candidly addressed their relationship blip. Molly-Mae explained: “You've been going through recently haven't you [Tommy]. Tommy's had surgery on his hand, he has needed this surgery for as long as we can remember, 2019. He had this injury that no one knew about. He didn't share it with anyone and even with training through the Jake Paul stuff, I wrote a caption on Instagram saying like ‘We went through some really hard times as a family’ and I feel like the injury was just always causing us so many problems and was always there, but we never spoke about it.”
Love Island's Haris spills on unaired row between Zara and TanyelShe added: “Anyway I'm very proud of you for deciding to get the operation but I didn't think we realised the kind of impact it was going to have on our everyday life, him not having his right hand.”
Tommy contributed to the conversation, saying: “So that's what I'm going through at the moment, so some nice messages would be nice instead of all hateful.” Last month, Tommy shared news that he was getting surgery.
The father-of-one said he has been battling 'extreme pain' and left unable to use one of his hands during fights. Uploading a photo of himself on social media, Tommy showed that he was in hospital, and wrote: “Since 2019 I have been dealing with a hand injury that I’ve never spoken about/shared online. Since my third professional fight I have been trying to manage this injury, training and fighting through extreme pain which lead to me often not being able to use my right hand at all. For the last four weeks of my last camp I trained solely with my left hand until fight night.
“This morning I underwent the surgery I’ve been putting off for years as I know this is the only way my hand will heal and that I can move forward with my boxing career.” He concluded: “I’m excited for my recovery journey and so ready to be back feeling and giving 100% in 2024.”
