Ordering from a restaurant should be a pain-free experience - unless a stranger takes issue with what you order.

When you go into a takeaway restaurant to order food, you expect it to be fairly simple. You go in, place your order, wait for your food to be cooked, and then pick it up and take it home. Easy, right? Well, one man got more than he bargained for when he went into a Chinese restaurant to order food for himself and his wife, as he was accused by the stranger in front of him of being a "creep" over one thing he did while in line.

The anonymous man was left baffled after he placed his order, as the woman in front of him in the queue accused him of trying to hit on her - because he'd ordered the same dish that she had.

In a post on Reddit, he wrote: "My wife and I were running a couple of errands on my day off and as is customary being humans that are alive and possessing a functioning stomach, we got hungry. I took a quick detour to a well-known Chinese food chain because I was in the mood for some orange chicken. My wife stayed in the car while I ran in to grab the food.

"There weren't very many people inside and I was like 'Sweet, I should be in and out of here pretty quick'. Little did I know that one of the three people standing in front of me was a Karen. There was a couple in front of me who looked like they were in their early 20s and a man ahead of them who looked like he was in his late 20s. The girl was reasonably attractive and dressed in pyjamas, definitely not the kind of look you'd normally see with a Karen, which is why I was so thrown off by what she said to me.

"The two guys order their food without incident. Now, when the girl orders her food I notice she happens to be ordering the exact same thing I want to order. Crazy I know. When the staff member asks me what I want I order the same thing. The girl, hearing what I ordered, looks back at me with the most disgusted look on her face and says, 'I have a boyfriend you creep. Are you trying to get with me or something?'

"Before I can even get a word in edgewise she walks off in a huff to join her boyfriend at the till. She continues to glare at me once or twice while her boyfriend rolls his eyes and finishes paying."

But the 27-year-old man had the perfect response to the woman's bizarre outburst. After a staff member told him they'd give him "extra chicken" to make up for the woman's behaviour, he loudly declared that his "wife would really appreciate that", to make it clear to the "entitled" woman that he wasn't trying to flirt with her - they simply wanted the same food.

Commenters on the post were baffled by the woman's outburst, as many of them couldn't understand her logic. One person said: "Who ever got with anyone by mimicking their food order at a fast food restaurant? F***ing hell," while another added: "Who even makes that correlation over a fast food order? These people are the definition of egotistic."
