A woman has told of her 'horror' after finding out her sister-in-law has been 'brazenly' stealing from her – in her own home. After sharing how her brother, sister-in-law, and their three-month-old boy were staying with her and her wife due to problems with their own home, she has now reached her wits' end due to her sister-in-law's stealing.

She said: “She’s been an absolute nightmare when it comes to taking things that aren't hers and brushing them off because she ‘needs’ them due to her baby, my nephew Liam Jr." And after admitting there was a 'long list' of grievances, she detailed some that was causing her the most concern. “She took my expensive hair products made specifically for thick hair because, and I quote, 'Liam Jr can't handle strong scents and yours are just gentler on his nose'. She used an entire 500ml bottle of conditioner in three days," she said.

The woman shared how she caught her sister-in-law sneaking food bought for everyone into her own room after it had been delivered, as well as taking all of her pantry snacks labelled specifically for her due to a mild food allergy. She added: “I keep seeing her walking back and forth past my room with my snacks. If I or my wife try to confront her she cries that she's breastfeeding and she needs the energy. Then she'll get my brother to chew me out. For the record, we do have a communal snack bin, but she won't touch the snacks in there.”

She claims she has been stealing gift cards from their kitchen, spending almost £60 ($75) on purchases to make 'the room more comfortable' for her son. The woman said: “I use those gift cards when I go shopping, or as presents for sudden events. She knows this and still took six to eight gift cards out with her."

After citing the continual boundary-less behaviour had been non-stop for three weeks, she admitted being ‘done’ with her brother’s wife, saying how she felt she was now doing things out of spite. “I'm seriously considering kicking her out,” she said, before asking Reddit readers for their advice.

“They need to get kicked out,” fumed one, clearly on her side. “And it has to be before you have to go through a legal, official procedure. In other words: Now. And in the meantime, you need to lock everything up.” Another agreed, commenting: “You are already giving more than you need to. And she's taking advantage of your hospitality. Her behaviours are the reason they need to leave. Not yours.”

“They are past their expiration date,” raged another reader. “Give them 24 hours to leave. Trash bag their stuff and put it out. Re-key your locks. They created their mess and they can figure their s*** out.” Another, agreed, commenting that is she can't show any respect, they should vacate their home: “That’s not your problem! Either they respect you and your things, or they get out!”

One encouraged her to stop being so kind: “There is a line between kindness and being a doormat, and you are slowly crossing it. Just remember that their behaviour not only harms you, but it also harms your wife. You should give your brother a bill for everything she’s taken."
