Faye Winter has signalled she has had enough of apologising after she vilified herself in an explosive Love Island argument.

The 28-year-old reality star was a contestant on season seven of the ITV2 reality show in 2021 where she spent most of her time in a relationship with Teddy Soares. Faye’s explosive temper saw her spark a record 25,000 complaints to Ofcom as she furiously belittled and screamed at 28-year-old Teddy while the cameras were rolling.

Despite the unsettling scenes, Teddy opted to stay with Faye and they remained in a relationship for 18 months - however, they split at the beginning of last year. While it has been almost three years since Faye found fame on the reality show, the Ofcom incident has continued to haunt her.

Now she has hinted she has had enough of apologising for the explosive argument that happened in the villa. Faye confessed that her mental health suffered when she exited the show and uncovered the extent of the backlash against her - and she says she was the target of online trolls who tried to pull her down.

Opening up to The Sun, she said: “At one point, when I came out of Love Island, I thought I was the worst person in the world. Not many people get to see their flaws played out in front of everyone.

“Did it impact my mental health? Yes. Was I in a really dark place? Yes. Do I think I deserved the hate? No. But I didn’t want to come out and talk about that side of it . . . I didn’t want to sound like a cop out.

“What I’ve done, I’ve done and I have to take full responsibility for that. I have to take full credit and say, ‘I messed up and I’m sorry.’ And I’ve said that for more than two years.”

Following her split with Teddy, Faye hinted that she believed he had cheated on her during their relationship. Her suspicions were raised when she saw footage of him getting into a car with other women.

She said on a podcast: "What do you believe and what don't you believe? I think you don't want to believe sh*t, you want to see the good in people. You want to really believe he wouldn't do it but I'll never know."

And of her split, she said at the time: "It's been very obvious, especially over the last few months, we just wanted different things. We were just in different places… And you know, relationships... they're hard, you know, they're hard things to maintain. People go through breakups every single day.”

For Valentine’s Day this year, Faye revealed her dog was helping her feel special. She shared a string of snaps of her pooch alongside a caption stating: “No one I’d rather spend it with.”
