Meghan Markle is returning to podcasting after she was axed from Spotify, but one expert has warned her to "diversify her content" if she wants to make it a success.

The Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry signed a lucrative $25million (£19million) deal with the streaming service when they stepped down from the Royal Family in 2020. However, the partnership crumbled when it was axed last summer.

Now, Meghan has joined forces with podcast network Lemonada. As part of the new deal, the company will distribute the first season of Meghan's podcast Archetypes, while she will produce a brand new series. PR expert Mayah Riaz has said Meghan should explore a range of topics on her new show.

Archetypes ran for 12 episodes and saw Meghan "explore and subvert the labels that try to hold women back." She interviewed a number of celebrities for the podcast, including Paris Hilton, Serena Williams and Mariah Carey.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, PR to the stars Mayah said: "As Meghan launches a new podcast, it would be a great strategy for her to follow a similar route of interviewing influential women for this new podcast. This approach will see her aligning with her brand and expertise.

"Despite the various opinions on her, she is a prominent figure when it comes to advocating for women's empowerment and social issues. By featuring influential women again, she will be able to leverage their established platforms and networks to attract a diverse and engaged audience to her new podcast.

"Having said this, it may also be beneficial for Meghan to branch out and explore different topics or interview a broader range of individuals. By doing this, it would help expand her reach and appeal to a wider audience beyond her existing fan base."

Mayah added: "For the new podcast, I think the best approach would be for Meghan to diversify the content by having a mix of episodes with guests and solo episodes. This way Meghan can demonstrate her versatility and showcase her ability to engage with various subjects and perspectives."

Meghan released a statement on her new website to announce her partnership with Lemonada. She said: "I'm proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting. Being able to support a female founded company with a roster of thought provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024.

"Our plan to re-release Archetypes so that more people can now have access to it, as well as launching a dynamic new podcast are well in the works. I'm so eager to be able to share it soon, and am overjoyed to be joining the Lemonada family."
