Liam Gallagher seemingly couldn't care less about Oasis' nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The group joined the likes of Cher, Mariah Carey, Kool & the Gang and Ozzy Osbourne in being listed for the gong but it's probably best for the organisers if the rockers don't win. He went on a twitter rant about the award and they can probably kiss goodbye to him swinging by to shake some hands if the band top the vote.

Liam responded to the nom by tweeting: "F*** the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS LG x." He didn't stop then and when one fan asked him why he wasn't on board, Liam explained: "I honestly feel there's something very fish about those awards. I don't need some w**k award by some geriatric in a cowboy hat."

Not missing the chance to have a pop at brother Noel, he did suggest that his former band-mate would be up for collecting. He told another fan who prodded the music star: "The little fella loves hanging out with celebrities so he'd prob go."

Bosses didn't see the blast coming. John Sykes, chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation said over the weekend: "This remarkable list of nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates.

"Continuing in the true spirit of rock & roll, these artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps." The inductees will be announced in April and the annual ceremony will take place in Cleveland.

Liam last month spoke about the moment that his brother quit Oasis and the events that led up to that point and how he felt once Noel had walked out on the band. The 51-year-old singer-songwriter said that his "world caved in" after the bust-up which Noel, 56, claims was the catalyst for him leaving, though Liam has disputed what happened and that he was the reason why Noel couldn't perform as part of Oasis any more.

The band, which was formed in the 1990s, came to an end after Noel and Liam clashed backstage at the Rock-en-Seine festival in Paris, during 2009, which the elder brother has pinned squarely on the shoulders of his younger sibling but Liam has now challenged the reasons for him quitting, saying that his behaviour hadn't changed during their time together in the band.

Speaking in a new interview with The Guardian, the singer said that he was surprised that Noel cited his behaviour as a reason for quitting and said that it was actually what helped Oasis be a step apart from other bands at the time. Liam explained: "That’s what made Oasis what it was. I wasn’t any different, but all of a sudden, he’s turned into Ronan Keating or some soft c***, going: ‘We can’t have that behaviour.’”
