Strictly's Vito tells Ellie Leach 'I love you' as he shares sweet promise

Vito Coppola reflected on his friendship with Ellie Leach following the pair's final performance on Strictly Come Dancing's live tour, which concluded over the weekend.

The professional dancer, 31, and the actor, 22 - best known for her role on Coronation Street - won the latest series of the BBC show together last year. And they later reunited for the live tour which ran from January 19 to February 11.

Following their last routine at the O2 Arena in London on Sunday evening, Vito has expressed his love for Ellie in a post on social media this week. He also shared with his followers that they have made a "promise" between them.

Vito took to Instagram on Monday night to reflect on their experience. He shared footage of them backstage, ahead of their final performance, at the venue in the capital city and wrote a message to his dance partner Ellie in the caption.

He commented: "It has been just perfect right? Love you baby and always remember our promise: 'always there for each other'. No more words needed! Good night baby." Vito put a heart emoji immediately after the latter remark.

Addressing their fans, he further commented in the caption of the post: "Good night beautiful people. You have been with us in every single moment since the beginning of our journey." He ended the post with a four-leaf clover emoji.

The video that was included in the post showed Vito and Ellie shortly before their final performance together on the tour. They were seen in dressing gowns backstage whilst someone off-camera combed Ellie's hair for a moment.

Various colleagues were briefly seen in the background at points in the video. This included former tennis player Annabel Croft, who was among the line-up on the tour, with her apologising after walking into frame in the footage.

Vito and Ellie seemed a bit teary-eyed as they prepared for their final dance together on the tour. He said: "Baby, are we about to perform our last show together? I love you so much." Ellie responded to the dancer: "I love you."

Seemingly addressing that they were getting emotional, Vito further commented: "We always end up like this. It's been an amazing tour. An amazing series. An amazing month." He went on to say: "This was different with everyone."

He continued: "We are going to dance one last time." Ellie confirmed: "Our last time." The pair suggested that their last dance would be an American smooth. Vito added in the clip: "But we are happy because we gave our 110% percent."

Sharing her thoughts, Ellie said: "And we've been lucky to have this experience together." Vito replied by saying that he felt "very, very lucky" to have shared the experience with Ellie, which was a sentiment that she echoed in the video. Vito concluded by saying that they were "so grateful".

The footage was set to Billie Eilish's song What Was I Made For?, which featured in the film Barbie (2023) and earlier this month won two Grammy Awards. Vito's video has more than 40,000 plays on the platform since it was shared.
