Brits can book an adults-only soft play with a ball pit, laser tag and karaoke

You can release your inner-child at a soft play centre for adults.

Adventurers After Dark is a one-of-a-kind event designed for adults who prefer to run around in a giddy fashion than sitting down for a quiet chat over a glass of red wine.

The Adventurers soft play centres in Taunton and Cheddar in Somerset have been transformed into a hedonistic zone of high-tech lighting, strobes, sound systems and DJs.

Party-goers can take part in laser tag battles, immersive freedom gaming, rock-star karaoke sessions, and a fully-licensed bar stocked with a cocktails and alcoholic slushies.

In the laser tag arena you can battle it out with friends and foes alike, using cutting-edge laser technology to zap opponents and conquer the area. Under the cover of darkness strategise, communicate, and emerge victorious.

Another exciting prospect is the Freedom Gaming zone, which gets you moving, climbing, crawling, jumping and running through indoor play obstacles – in a crazy, fun-filled rush to hit the pods and score points for your team.

If all of the spirit sodden slushes have gone to your head and you need a breather from the physical side of Adventurers After Dark, then there is a karaoke stage where you can either sing solo or in a group, depending on how much Dutch courage you've consumed.

Oversized games including Giant Jenga, Giant Connect 4, and Giant Mousetrap will test your skills, strategy, and balance.

The Taunton version sits close to the city centre and is spread across a 8,500 square feet warehouse. At its centre is a towering 3-story play structure complete with an astro slide.

Taking place every month, the three-hour sessions run from 7.30pm to 11pm, cost £9.95 and include a host of fun and interactive games and activities.

While it can be fun to let your hair down in an adults only zone, one family recently told the Mirror how their holiday had unravelled when they were sent to a hotel that would not admit kids.

The Vaghela family jetted out to Morocco to celebrate four birthdays, and were looking forward to enjoying the warm weather, the beach and a relaxing time at White Beach Resort Taghazout.

It was only when they arrived at the hotel that they learned it had become an 'adult's only' establishment just a few weeks before - months after they booked the £8,400 Love Holidays trip in February.

Hotel staff explained the 12 and 14-year-olds in the group couldn't stay, so Dipak and Krita Vaghela headed off to a new hotel several kilometres down the coast with them.
