Trigger Point fans are convinced they've spotted a huge error in the latest episode.

Vicky McClure plays bomb disposal expert Lana Washington on the ITV1 series, which follows the story of Lana's constant brushes with death as she tries to diffuse bombs across the Greater London area. Whilst she has seen many die around her, including her best friend Nut (played by Adrian Lester) and her brother Billy, the most recent death will no doubt hit her hardest.

DCI Thom Youngblood - played by Mark Stanley - was killed off in shocking scenes at the end of episode two, with the death clearly having big ramifications on the whole team including his girlfriend DS Helen Morgan and of course, his ex-Lana.

Thom and Lana had just agreed to give it another go, professing that they did still love one another and Thom had made plans to break things off with Helen before he died in tragic circumstances.

However, fans have spotted an issue with the most recent scenes, which saw Helen quiz the suspect on the death of her boyfriend and colleague, whilst the whole team including Lana and Danny remained on the case, with viewers questioning why they were still at work.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Wouldn't like to work in occupational therapy with this team." Whilst a second added: "Surely after a woman blew up in front of her AND her (ex?) boyfriend died, Lana should get a few weeks off on leave??? #TriggerPoint." A third shared: "Do they not offer any counselling or have it be a requirement to speak to a therapist, experiencing all of this in a job #triggerpoint."

Speaking about how the audience might react to her character, Natalie Simpson - who plays Helen - said: "I secretly love to play baddies, but I always get cast as goodies annoyingly, so I wouldn’t mind if people were rooting for Lana and Thom! I get tired of people feeling sorry for my characters, they’re always put upon women and the poor little victim. I’d quite like people to think Helen is in the way and to dislike her, that would be interesting, although maybe I will change my mind when it happens!

"It is interesting to be the other woman, because even though Helen and Thom are together, Helen is in the way of Lana and Thom’s love story and the audience will probably be on her side because you’re seeing the story through her eyes. I’m interested to see what people think of Helen. She’s one of those annoyingly nice people, but perhaps they’ll find her too saccharine, we will see."

Natalie has teased trouble ahead for Helen and Lana. She added: "She knows that Thom was with Lana beforehand, and he has mentioned to her that it was a slightly challenging relationship for various reasons.

"So now she is being introduced to Lana for the first time and working alongside her. It’s in her nature to want everyone to get along and Helen has no reason to think that she and Lana can’t manage that. At the beginning she works very hard to keep things professional between them, but that derails as the season goes on."
