This Morning fans threatened to switch off and complain to Ofcom over an "inappropriate" sex toy segment.

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were hosting the ITV show today, which saw the usual segments such as a discussion on the news, a game between a viewer and This Morning expert Gyles Brandreth, whilst Alison Steadman was one of the guests interviewed on the ITV lunchtime show. However, at the end of the episode, Alison told parents to send younger viewers away.

It was then that they began discussing sex toys and spoke to an expert, who ran them through all the different options available and left viewers at home confused by the "inappropriate" segment at lunchtime.

One wrote: "Am I a prude for thinking that particular segment was a bit much on a daytime show, particularly as I did think it was just done to spark the comments? ( which of course it has done)," whilst a second added: "Just sat down to my lunch, and you broadcast this filth ! What happened to the 9 o clock watershed. #ThisMorning #ofcom."

A third shared: "Perhaps it should have stayed off during your Valentine's sex toys section on the @thismorning programme today,, seriously this was not suitable viewing with pre-schoolers sitting watching TV?" with a fourth writing: "nah @thismorning WTAF? It’s midday and you’re doing a segment on sex toys?! @Ofcom There are youngsters watching this!!!!!! #ThisMorning."

"#ThisMorning kids off on half term will be watching this, surely this is watershed moment," a fifth wrote, with a sixth sharing: "Are they really reviewing sex toys on Daytime TV #ThisMorning." A seventh wrote: "What's happened to this morning haha #thismorning."

Many fans pointed out Dermot looked uncomfortable during the segment, with fans calling it unnecessary and inappropriate. One shared: "Don’t think this is appropriate for daytime television. #ThisMorning."

The show actually went off air earlier today when a post on the official This Morning Twitter account said the live show was down due to technical issues but would be back as soon as possible, with fans rushing to ask if things were ok.

Hosts Alison and Dermot then returned about five minutes later, where they blamed "gremlins" in the system for interrupting their broadcast and said they were back on air for good now.
