Police have confirmed another sighting of Abdul Ezedi as the manhunt continues.

It is now known that the chemical attack suspect crossed Chelsea Bridge on the night of Wednesday, January 31, as more CCTV footage is trawled by police.

And in a joint operation officers from the Met and Northumbria Police executed warrants at addresses associated with Ezedi, including his place of work, in the north Tyneside area today. "No arrests were made and our searches have now concluded, but enquiries continue as a result of this morning's raids," said police.

A statement from the Met Police continued: "In London, the investigation team has progressed further work to analyse Ezedi’s movements with him having crossed over Chelsea Bridge. A large number of officers revisited the scene of the attack in Lessar Avenue, Clapham yesterday evening to make week-on appeals for information."

Ezedi, 35, is accused of pouring a strong alkali on the woman – his former partner – and injuring her two young children, aged three and eight, on January 31 in Clapham, south London.

“This is just part of our work, a team of 100 officers in London are continuing to progress a range of enquiries, linking in with other forces and agencies. This includes meticulous work to examine CCTV footage, and we have now traced Ezedi’s movements for another 30 minutes.

“Thanks once more to all those members of the public who continue to contact us with information, we are hugely grateful. Officers at the scene handed out 250 leaflets and spoke to many people in the local area last night as we appealed for any further witnesses to the horrific events of a week ago to come forward. We also visited local Afghan restaurants and spoke to members of the local residents’ association.

“People were pleased to see us and I would like to thank everyone who spoke to us. Please keep the calls coming – we are following up every single piece of information.” A police statement added: "You can speak to the investigation team via our hotline on 020 7175 2784, or for an immediate sighting dial 999.
