Bluey is setting up residency at Alton Towers just in time for families planning days out for Easter.

The BAFTA-winning, animated dog is a loveable, inexhaustible, Blue Heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo in the Emmy and BAFTA award-winning animated series of the same name.

The cartoon pup will be joining the line up at CBeebies Land, Alton Towers Resort, from Easter. From Saturday, March 23, fans of the hit TV show will be able to meet the Bluey costume character each day in an area of the Staffordshire theme park dedicated to CBeebies, which will celebrate its tenth anniversary this year.

Bluey, created and written by Joe Brumm, is the latest name to join the fun-packed line up in CBeebies Land that already includes Hey Duggee, Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Bing and Flop, Ubercorn, Peter Rabbit and the Teletubbies.

In the TV series, Bluey uses her limitless energy to play games that unfold in unpredictable and hilarious ways bringing her family and the whole neighbourhood into her world of fun. Her knack of turning everyday events like going to the shops or visiting the doctor into unique adventures is a key part of the show.

Since launching in Australia in 2018, Bluey has gained millions of fans around the world, ranks as the number 1 show on CBeebies in the UK and has been streamed over 450 million times since it launched on BBC iPlayer. It also holds as a top rating series in the U.S., Australia, the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Italy.

Bianca Sammut, divisional director for Alton Towers Resort, said: “As a fellow Australian, I am personally very excited to welcome Bluey to the Resort. I know this joy and excitement will be shared by so many families across the UK.

“The 2024 season will mark the 10th anniversary of CBeebies Land and Bluey’s arrival is one of many ways we are looking to make it memorable for young guests and their families.”

To mark 10 years of CBeebies Land the Resort is also preparing to unveil brand-new and exciting additions for the 2024 season, which will be revealed in the coming weeks. It is set to include added live entertainment, activities and special guests across the celebration.

Other attractions at Cbeebies include Jetters Vroomster Zoom ride, In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride, Postman Pat Parcel Force, Something Special Sensory Garden and Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure.

In addition to a large range of rides, the Land also has indoor and outdoor play areas and a full programme of live entertainment. Nowhere else can fans of the UK’s most watched children’s channel meet so many of their favourite characters all in one place.

Tickets to CBeebies Land start from £35 and include access to the wider Theme Park.

Alton Towers is not the only place that will soon welcome the unusually coloured pooch. This Easter Kew Gardens in West London will be running a fortnight long Bluey attraction.

Visitors can head towards the Bluey play zone to interact with 3D installations and family-friendly activities inspired by fan-favourite episodes of the show as seen on Disney+ and CBeebies.

As you embark on your journey, be on the lookout for educational panels about the rich variety of plants and wildlife native to Australia, as well as some of the rarities and oddities in Kew’s collections. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture your Bluey experience at Kew, which also includes appearances of a Bluey costume character.
