Lindt has taken Easter to the next level after unveiling its latest take on the iconic Gold Bunny.

Around this time of year, supermarket shelves start filling up with a familiar face, one that is instantly recognised by its little red ribbon and adorable bell. And while you can still get hold of the famed Lindt Golden Bunny, shoppers have been raving about a new release.

The Swiss chocolatier has launched a bar version of its golden bunny, embossed with a 'charming Spring design'. It still contains the same velvety chocolate recipe we all know and love, and can be picked up from a slew of retailers including Sainsbury's and Tesco - where they are priced at £3 each.

"I have one of these all ready put aside for Easter," said one self-restrained person wrote after Lindt announced the launch on Instagram. While another said: "Looks delicious" and a third added: "Oh yum!"

One chocolate lover admitted she simply couldn't get enough of the sweet treat, writing on Facebook: "I've had four in the past week. Wish I'd never spotted them now, [they're] too nice."

Last week, shoppers were also sent into a frenzy after spotting 'rare' versions of Twix and Snickers chocolates that originated in the US. Social media account New Foods UK posted a picture on Instagram and Facebook, after coming across tubs of Twix and Snickers edible cookie dough in Budgens stores.

Hundreds of impressed shoppers took to the comments section, tagging their friends and asking them to pick some of the choccies. "Aw I want to try these!" one person commented - while another added: "Yummy."

One woman even took a screenshot of the distance to her nearest Budgens, which is over 40 miles away in Manchester. She added: "Off to Manchester..." However, not everybody was pleased with the product - with some branding it 'hideous' and said it tastes like 'play-doh'.
