Amy Dowden surprises Strictly Come Dancing stars by dropping in on tour
Amy Dowden made a surprise appearance on the Strictly Come Dancing tour to reunite with her co-stars.
The professional dancer sadly missed the latest series of the BBC dance competition after being diagnosed with breast cancer. She shared her diagnosis with fans last May and later underwent a mastectomy. At the end of last year, Amy also had a blood clot on her lung, battled sepsis and broke her foot.
Over the weekend Amy shared she was having an MRI scan, but confessed she was "happy" with the progress of her hair growth after noticing how much it had changed since her treatments. She has since reunited with her Strictly colleagues by paying them a visit on their UK tour. The cast have been travelling the country for Strictly Come Dancing Live.
Amy surprised professional dancers Vito and Dianne (Instagram)Dancer Dianne Buswell took to her Instagram where she shared a series of snaps with Amy. Alongside the photos, she wrote: "The cup to my tea surprised us all yesterday and came to the show with the lovely ben it was Well Lush i loves you i do." Dianne posted selfies with Amy and her husband Ben, as well as with professional dancer and winner of the 2023 series Vito Coppola.
Amy commented: "Loves you I do! loved surprising you all xxxx." Vito added: "Oh Amyyyyyyyy I was sooooo happy to see you. Beautiful surprise When I have heard your voice I jumped Hope you enjoyed the show and we cannot wait to have you back us in the dance floor Love youuuuuuu."

In December Amy returned to the Strictly dancefloor where she took centre stage during a group routine. Strictly viewers were in tears as they watched the star perform with her peers during the series finale. After the show, Amy took to her Instagram where she posted snaps from the special night.
She wrote: "Strictly 2023 thank you! Congratulations to our fabulous winners and finalist but also to every member of the team! It’s truly a dream team! My aim this year was to be able to dance in some way and after breaking my foot the plans had to change but as always the incredible team still made it happen.

It’s bitter sweet coming to the end for me as this has been my only bit of normality the past few months and given me the distraction and focus to be there on Saturdays when I could with the team." Concluding the post, she wrote: "My heart couldn’t be more full than it is for this show and everyone involved. So proud to be part of the magic! Thank you!"
At the start of this year Amy enjoyed her second honeymoon with husband Ben. She told Lorraine Kelly: "The past year has been tough... cancer diagnosis, treatment, a mastectomy and some setbacks but I'm determined to get my life back on track. Finally, we are honeymooning in Grenada!" Amy was on her honeymoon when she first found a lump in her breast.
Opening up about how the second honeymoon compared to their first, Amy said: "A totally different feeling from when we were on our honeymoon in the Maldives because you [her husband] didn't know but obviously I had this cloud over me, I was present in my first honeymoon but I really wasn't because I found the lump, I was hiding it from Ben."
