One paranoid man’s disturbing behaviour around his approaching divorce frightened his “soon-to-be” ex-wife’s and friend into taking to the internet to seek advice

The woman who is friends with her neighbour’s wife described his behaviour as “strange” flagging that he is keeping unsettling and regular tabs on the goings on of her household. The string of concerning events kicked off with the simple act of the woman revving her car in her drive. This was met with a text to the woman’s husband telling her repeating this offence would mean “problems.”

Giving “a little back story” explained she used to work with the man’s wife nd they remain “good friends”. She added: “My neighbor’s soon to be ex wife visits frequently and often spends time here late into the evenings just as she did when she still lived next door as well.”

Under the pseudonym “Spite Rich”, the woman posted to saying: “My neighbor is regularly watching or listening to what is going on at my house. One morning when it was snowy out I accidentally revved my car engine getting situated in the car in the morning before work and he later messaged my husband in a threatening manner about how it better not happen again or “there would be problems”. She added: “It was an honest accident and was very quick and short.”

This is not the first red flag her neighbour has displayed, and the woman and her husband have attempted to set some boundaries with the man before. She said: “Her (soon to be ex) husband had always been a little… strange and has often borrowed tools from my husband and even used our riding mower all last summer. My husband even had to tell him our stuff is not a free for all for him to use whenever he wanted without asking first and he eventually started keeping gas in the mower, sometimes mowing our lawn when he did his, or bringing my husband a case of beer for letting him use the mower.

“Well now that I have been hanging out with my friend more again due to better aligning work schedules, he’s completely coming unhinged. Going so far as to accuse her of only coming over to spy on him and his time with their 5 year old son. She very much is not, doesn’t even look out the windows in that direction when she is here.”

Her neighbour’s accusations have become personal and out of hand, the woman added “he’s even accused her of having an affair with my husband while they were married.”

She said: “That definitely did NOT happen. He has even logged times she arrived and left and made comments about her spending a night and all of the next day here this past weekend. She stayed over due to having a rough week and not feeling safe to drive after having a couple drinks.”

Asking if there was anything in place to stop this kind of behaviour she questioned how to go about the next steps. She said: “Is there anything I can do about him constantly watching my property now? It freaks me out and now I don’t feel safe being home alone due to the threatening remarks he has made to my husband.”
