New images of chemical suspect show him wearing hood hours after family attacked
These new images of chemical horror suspect Abdul Ezedi show him wearing a hood just hours after the attack last week.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism fugitive team have now traced Ezedi, 35, from his last known position at 9.47pm on Allhallows Lane in City of London on Wednesday January 31.
He's seen, just minutes later, walking along Upper Thames Street and then into Pauls Walk, also in City of London. He passes the City of London School and then heads towards Blackfriars Bridge, which crosses River Thames. The last known sighting is now at 10:04pm when he passes the Unilever building and heads towards Victoria Embankment.
Ezedi is said to have hurled a chemical at a mum and her two children, including a three-year-old girl, near Clapham Common, south London, just hours before these movements. Emergency services dashed to the scene at around 7.30pm and took several people, including the mother and her youngest, to hospital. It was reported on Thursday the pair had suffered life-changing injuries though the three-year-old's condition is now understood to be less severe.
Commander Jon Savell, of Met Police, said: “Our teams have been working tirelessly through the night and into today to pinpoint Ezedi’s latest movements and we are now able to release the latest images and footage of him."
Faces of the children killed in horror dog attacks in UK since 2020The officer continued: "We continue to appeal for information about Ezedi’s whereabouts. It remains our belief that he is being helped by others and yesterday we arrested a man for assisting an offender. Our enquiries continue to target more of Ezedi’s associates. A £20,000 reward remains on offer for anyone who has information leading to his arrest.”
Met Police said on the weekend it will reward anyone with information leading to Ezedi's arrest with a fee of up to £20,000. Detectives have urged the man from the Newcastle area — who is described as having very "significant injuries to the right side of his face" — to hand himself in at a station.
The manhunt is being led and co-ordinated by the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, with a team of more than 100 officers dedicated to the investigation from across a range of areas and specialisms including experienced detectives through to local neighbourhood officers. The Met is also being supported by dozens of officers from forces across the UK including Northumbria and British Transport Police. We remain in liaison with the National Crime Agency, the Home Office, UK Border Force and UK Visas and Immigration.
Details of Ezedi have been circulated to all UK police forces and ports. Anyone with information is asked to call our 24/7 hotline on 020 7175 2784 or for an immediate sighting dial 999. To remain anonymous, please contact the independent charity Crimestoppers.
