Man applauded for breaking up with 'unhealthy' girlfriend who hates vegetables
A man has been applauded by strangers after he admitted he was planning on breaking up with his girlfriend because she refused to change her unhealthy lifestyle. Wanting to know if he was being out of order for expecting his partner to take care of herself he shared the situation on social media.
The 23-year-old man explained that his girlfriend, who is the same age, only ever eats fast food or ready meals, like mac and cheese. “She says she doesn't like the texture of fresh produce but in our 5 years together, every time I try to make her taste any meal I cook with veggies she makes a fit,” he wrote, “same for fruits.”
Concerned about his partner, things took a turn for the pair when her health crashed and she struggled to get out of bed and function properly. He wrote: “The doctor said it was most probably the lack of vitamins and lack of exercise. I bought her some expensive women's multivitamins. She took them for a week, got better, and then stopped taking them.

“I remind her every so often to take them but she always finds some reason not to take them and gets frustrated at me for even asking. Today she started crashing again, the same exact way as before.”
Woman tells of losing 29 kilos and becoming a bodybuilder in her 60sHe revealed that his girlfriend is keen to get married and have kids, and while he used to feel the same her lack of health is making him reconsider. He added: “I don't want to marry someone that's going to be sick all our lives because she doesn't make the bare minimum effort to be healthy.
“If we have kids how would she lead by example if she makes a fuss every time I try to make her taste anything healthy? I fear approaching the subject with her because she always ends up frustrated and crying and nothing changes.”
Finishing by clarifying that his girlfriend isn’t overweight, just unhealthy, he admitted he was building up the courage to end the relationship. After reading the Reddit post people rushed to assure him he wasn’t in the wrong. One person replied: “She doesn’t share the same health values as you, and I think that is a valid reason to break up with her. Don’t stay around for the crying. Just end it and get out of there.”
Someone else added: “Your girlfriend's behavior is selfish and irresponsible. She's literally making herself sick with her junk food addiction and refuses to take basic steps to improve her health. How can she expect to be a good partner or parent when she can't even take care of herself?”
