Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders and his wife have slammed the Grammys as the band were "robbed".

The award-winning indie rock band were up for three awards at the huge night in music. They were nominated for Best alternative music album, Best alternative music performance and Best rock performance. However, the group - made up of Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O'Malley and Matt Helders - failed to scoop up any gongs.

Boygenius picked up two of the awards Arctic Monkeys were up for and Paramore snapped up the Best alternative music performance. After the event, Matt's wife Amanda Blank took to her Instagram where she said: "I wasn't going to bring this back bc Instagram is wild, the world is on fire and it generally doesn't bring me a lot of joy but then I went with my man to the Grammys (bear with me).

"It was obviously a bust and they were robbed - no offence to the winners but c'mon - (jay was right!) and the whole night was bizarre and honestly, that stuff is really overwhelming and stressful and I thought none of this is worth it..." Amanda, who is an American singer and rapper, then shared a snap with Spice Girls' Mel C.

She gushed: "What a gorgeous human inside and out, gave Matt and I nothing but love as we fanned out like crazy people. I am over the moon, beyond it, into the next galaxy!" Matt also took to his own social media to share a snap with Mel C, as he wrote: "I may have been robbed of a Grammy or three but I met sporty spice which makes up for everything and my wife cried when she met her."

Sheffield drummer Matt and Amanda tied the knot last year after dating for the past three. Amanda alluding to the nuptials on Instagram as she posted a snap of herself and Matt sharing a kiss. Captioning the image with a ring emoji, the performance art rapper wrote: "I really love you the most." Matt teased: "Can you believe it? Trouble and strife!" Sharing the photo, the R U Mine? star added: "I've never been happier!!!" Matt was previously married to Breana McDow, and the former couple share daughter Amelia Darling, seven. They started dating in 2011 and confirmed their engagement in 2013 before exchanging vows in at a lavish reception in Italy three years later.

Last year frontman Alex also sparked a married mystery with his French girlfriend, Louise Verneuil after she was spotted wearing a ring on her wedding finger. Alex and Louise were first spotted together in 2018 when the Arctic Monkeys were touring their Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino album.

In an interview just a year after they met, Louise, 34, said their relationship made her the target of misogynistic hate on Instagram. It is believed that is why the couple prefer to keep their love life low-key. The couple are said to split their time between London and Paris, after Alex moved back to the UK from Los Angeles. Before meeting Louise – real name Pauline Louise Benattar – Alex dated British model Alexa Chung, US model Taylor Bagley and American actress Arielle Vandenberg.
