As over 200,000 lucky ticket holders flock to Worthy Farm this weekend, it can only mean one thing - Glastonbury is back and anyone who was able to get their hands on tickets is on their way.

As famous for its exclusive ticketing policies as it is for its headline acts and big-name performers, millions of would-be festival fans are left disappointed every year as tickets sell out in mere minutes.

While tickets for Glastonbury 2024 are not on sale yet, we've prepped some tips and tricks to help you be in with the best chance to get your hands on them when the ticket-buying frenzy finally begins.

Successful festival goers take ticket purchasing very seriously, with WhatsApp syndicates and spreadsheets organised well in advance and multiple devices set up and fully charged.

You must register online before you are able to even attempt to buy a ticket, and there is no way of getting through those Glasto gates without an ID that matches your pre-registered photo ticket.

When is Glastonbury 2024?

Dates for next year's event have not been confirmed yet, but the festival traditionally place at the end of June, usually across the final weekend or just before.

An announcement regarding the dates is expected after the 2023 festival has been all packed away.

How much will tickets cost?

The ticket prices for Glastonbury 2024 have not been confirmed yet, but a general admission full weekend ticket was £335 plus a £5 booking fee for 2023.

Only available for registered ticket buyers via Seetickets, all bookings require a deposit of £50 to be paid, with the remaining balance to be paid in full by the first week of April 2024.

How to register for tickets

Before the ticket sale, you need to register on the Glastonbury website. Registration is mandatory and helps to prevent ticket touting, but it doesn't take long to complete and is free of charge.

Festival-goers will need to provide basic contact details and upload a passport-standard photo. Once a photo has been submitted, an automated email confirming receipt of data will be sent, followed by a second email within 48 hours in the working week, either accepting or rejecting the photo - and if successful, confirming your registration number.

When you finally get to purchase your ticket, it will have your details and photo on it.

When is the ticket sale?

Ticket sale for Glastonbury 2024 is expected to take place in November 2023, and historically they have always gone on sale on a Sunday morning so you might want to rethink any lively outings the night before.

The festival ticket and coach ticket packages usually go on sale a few days before the general sale. Coach tickets must be purchased in full at the time of booking, and you must travel on the selected coach to receive your festival tickets. Tickets will be sold through SeeTickets.

Coach package tickets actually go on sale the Thursday before the general sale, and you could be in with a better chance of getting there if you are ready to try your luck with coach tickets in advance of the main madness on Sunday.

Teamwork makes the dream work

In recent years, one person can normally book up to a maximum of 6 tickets per order. If you and five of your fellow festival fans can each use all of their laptops, devices and PCs to log on to the ticket site, you could maximise your chances of securing tickets six-fold.

Keep in touch on the morning of the ticket sale and make sure you have everyone's registration numbers, fell names and postcode details ready for when you get through to the ticket purchase page.

Ticket resale

If you miss out on tickets in the first sale, there is a chance to get them the following April.

The re-sale usually takes place a few weeks after the deadline for paying off the ticket balance, which is in early April and there is currently no reason to believe that April 2024 will be any different.

Getting your hands on April resale tickets is as much of a bun fight as the general sale, so get prepped and ready and jump on those devices as soon as the ticket gong goes off.

Who will be headlining Glastonbury 2024

The full line-up for Glastonbury is not usually announced before tickets go on sale.

Festival organizers may reveal one or two big names toward the end of the year as a little teaser, but the headliners and first major line-up announcements usually come in early spring.

The full line-up is typically unveiled around a month before the festival.

Are there any other ways to get into Glastonbury?

If you are unable to secure a ticket or cannot afford one, volunteering with various charities at the festival is an alternative way to get yourself in there.

Charities often require volunteers to complete shifts in exchange for a ticket, and the length and number of shifts vary depending on the charity.

Some volunteering options may require a deposit, which can be equivalent to the price of a festival ticket, but the cost could be well worth it to secure your place while doing a good deed.
