Tess Daly 'panicked' by split rumours - 'She's terrified to go it alone'
Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly is reportedly worried about the possibility of hosting the show alone.
Rumours are swirling that her co-host Claudia Winkleman might be leaving the BBC dance show, following her success on The Traitors. Claudia's agent reassured fans by telling new! magazine that she "isn't going anywhere" as far as Strictly is concerned.
However, the popularity of The Traitors has led some to believe Claudia could be considering other opportunities. A source claimed that that Tess, who has co-hosted the show with Claudia for a decade, might find it daunting to go solo.

The source added that Tess and Claudia's chemistry is a big part of the show's appeal. They said: "She and Claudia have got their in-jokes and work well as a double act on Strictly, so people will be wondering whether you can have one without the other."

Claudia, known for her quick wit and hilarious one-liners, has been a hit on Strictly Come Dancing. Her co-host Tess Daly is seen as the calming influence in their successful duo. Claudia used to present Strictly: It Takes Two until 2011 when Zoe Ball took over. She joined the main show in 2014 after the departure of the late Sir Bruce Forsyth.
A source suggested that Claudia's future could hold anything, saying: "She's done The Traitors, The Piano on Channel 4, and she's shown she can hold the fort by herself. On Strictly she has a great rapport, not just with the dancers but with the audience."
Rumours often circulate about people leaving Strictly, something Tess is accustomed to. However, recent whispers about Claudia considering leaving have reportedly left Tess feeling anxious. A second source told us that Tess is worried Claudia might be swayed by the extra attention and offers to leave the show.
The same source added: "The BBC will do everything they can to keep her as the host of The Traitors. But they're aware that Claudia will not take on too much... She just couldn't handle all the shows and how much it takes her away from her husband and kids. Something would have to give it would more or less be a toss-up between that and Strictly."
Claudia, a big Strictly fan herself, loves working with former model Tess, according to a source. "They're a team it would take something really big to break them up. But Tess fears this could be Claudia's last year." the source said.
While Strictly is Tess's only major gig, Claudia has other shows and is in high demand. She's also mindful of her growing children Arthur, 11, Matilda, 17, and Jake, 20.
Last December, Claudia announced she was stepping back from her Radio 2 morning show, saying: "I still have a little one who wants to be with me, don't know how long that will last. I just need to be at home more."
The source added that Claudia has "struggled" since her eldest left home and Matilda will be going to uni this year. They continued: "Nobody wants Claudia to leave. The last thing the BBC wants is more controversy over Strictly. They'll juggle things to make it work and so will Tess. She doesn't want to give up Strictly, but she wouldn't want to do it with anybody else."
Whether Claudia decides to leave or not, leaving Tess to host alone, one thing's certain she's TV's most wanted and the cards are all hers to play.
