Arsenal are celebrating after hauling themselves back into the title race with am impressive win over Liverpool.
The Gunners overcame a bizarre own-goal from Gabriel to score twice in the second-half and claim all three points. It was a dominant performance from the hosts, who were on top for much of the game.
Now Mikel Arteta has opened up on how he inspired his side to overcome the disappointment of Gabriel's own-goal. That comes as the manner of their celebrations after the win drew criticism from some quarters.

Mikel Arteta has revealed he told his Arsenal stars not to feel sorry for themselves for throwing away their lead against Liverpool. Gabriel's own-goal saw the Gunners pegged back, but Arteta had an inspiring team talk for his troops at the break.

"Especially with the performance we had in the first half and the chances we created, the way we conceded was painful. We could not feel sorry for ourselves, we needed to react and there was a lot to play for and we went out and suffered a bit," he told Sky Sports.
"They were attacking open spaces and that is a bad thing to concede against them. They changed their shape and we had to bring a player inside. Basically, the message was there wads going to be difficult moments and we had to navigate through them moments."

Clichy sounds warning

The Gunners are now well in the title race, but Clichy believes they need to navigate the rest of the season with caution.
"Arsene Wenger always used to say to us that once we won the first trophy, all the pressure would come undone. Now obviously that’s not easy to do and they’ve won already with Mikel [Arteta] but the Premier League is the one they still need," he told Sky Sports.
"They need to get it, you need to think about it a lot but they can’t be obsessed with it because Man City have been doing it for the last 12 years and we always want things quick in today’s time but they could be here, in this position, three years from now."

Odegaard slammed for antics
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has been slammed for the way he celebrated his side's win over Liverpool. The Norwegian international played a key role in their 3-1 win over the Reds and soaked up the fans' celebrations after the final whistle.
With the Emirates Stadium rocking, the club's cameraman came on to capture some moments. Odegaard took the camera off him and told him to pose in front of the fans as the two men swapped roles, which drew fierce criticism from Jamie Carragher.
