Pitch invader punches steward and flare hits ref as non-league game sparks chaos
A referee was hit by a flare and a steward punched by a fan as a match between Barnet and Wealdstone descended into chaos.
The National League meeting saw promotion-chasing Barnet play out a 1-1 draw against Wealdstone at the Hive Stadium. The pitch was invaded following the Stones' equalising goal in the 10th minute of second half stoppage time.
Corie Andrews' strike cancelled out Callum Stead's opener to earn a draw and sparked jubilant scenes in the away end that went a step too far. Footage appeared to show a supporter in a tussle with a steward as they attempted to move the fan from the pitch.
Players from both teams had to separate the duo as the steward appeared to be assaulted.
Meanwhile, a flare was thrown from the stands that hit referee Dale Baines. Footage shows a fan running onto the field as a flare makes contact with the referee's left shoulder.

Wealdstone have condemned the actions of their supporter and apologised to the steward. The club say they are working closely with the Metropolitan Police and Barnet to both identify and take action against those involved in the incident.
Their statement read: "The Board of Directors at Wealdstone Football Club unequivocally condemn the actions of the individual who invaded the pitch during our National League fixture at Barnet FC yesterday, following our equalising goal and assaulted a match day steward. Such behaviour is totally unacceptable and goes against the values that our club stands for.

"Wealdstone Football Club will not tolerate any form of misconduct that jeopardises the safety and enjoyment of football. We are dedicated to maintaining a family-friendly and safe environment for all fans and participants, reinforcing the positive and respectful image of our club and its supporters.
