I’m a through and through, having worn the same lipstick almost every day for the last seven years. However, I have had something of a love affair with Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk from time to time - but how would her new shades measure up, and could they potentially have me ditching my faithful MAC formula for the new CT innovations?

From her , I was most drawn to the soft satin finish and pretty pink hues of her globally-adoredover the matte revolution reds. However, I’ve always found it tricky to find a pink that suits me. I once discovered a gorgeous L’Oreal lippy, but it was discontinued and I haven’t found anything that came anywhere close ever since.

"Why can't I find my perfect red shade?” and “why can’t I find a pink that suits me?” are questions that Charlotte Tilbury always hears in her makeup chair, and she says it’s because ‘so many people choose the wrong shades for their skin tone, making their complexion look dull, flat, or ashy.’

I decided to use the new shade match tool on the Charlotte Tilbury website to see if it could work out my perfect pink. It’s really quick and easy, and simply a matter of answering multiple choice questions about your complexion, hair and eye colour, and the makeup you typically wear.

Within 60 seconds, I had a range of Charlotte Tilbury products recommended to me, ranging from shadow palettes to brow pencils - as well as lipsticks in every colour category. In the pinks, were recommended for me, including Icon Baby, 90s Pink, Candy Chic and Red Carpet Pink - so Rose To Fame may not be quite right for me.

I tried each of my four recommended hues, but it was the that was the one I loved most. Moss, who recently celebrated her 50th birthday, is considered Charlotte Tilbury’s OG beauty muse, having been the inspiration behind the likes of Nude Kate, Pillow Talk and Rocket Girl lipstick - but this brand new lippy is said to be the supermodel’s ‘dream pink’.

A , the Hollywood-ready lipstick is infused with light-diffusing lip filter effect pink pigments that ‘play with light’ to create a fuller, flattering satin finish. It pairs so well with the matching for a perfectly contoured pout, and is a stunning shade that works for everyday makeup looks and those that are a little more glam, too.

The is so comfortable to wear all-day, and lasts for at least six hours without smudging or feathering, making it perfect for events like weddings and nights out where you don’t want to have to worry about topping up your makeup.

While I may not be quite ready to give up my beloved completely, I’m so pleased to have finally found a for the days I fancy a bit of a change or an outfit calls for it.

Eve Rowlands loves Hollywood Beauty Icon Lipstick Matte Revolution - Hollywood Vixen

Our favourite Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Icon Lipstick shadesEve found that Hollywood Vixen not only made her feel great but it brightened her complexion too (Eve Rowlands)

I've tried to be a pink- and nude- lipstick wearing girly and, sadly, I've come to the conclusion that, aside from Charlotte Tilbury's ICONIC and globally revered Pillow Talk, it's just not for me. My skin tone, hair colour and style just doesn't suit it - a fact that was cemented when I used the new shade match tool on the Charlotte Tilbury website that would help me find my perfect shade of lipstick.

Within seconds of completing the short quiz, I was shown a selection of colours that would best suit my look and my two favourites from Charlotte's brand new lipstick collection were recommended. And surprise surprise... they were red. There were a few pinks thrown in there (K.I.S.S.I.N.G's Icon baby, Candy Chic and 90s pink, for example), but they didn't really do it for me. Candy Chic was a contender as was Rose to Fame... but wearing pink (on my lips) is a little alien to me, so I'm going to have to work myself up to regularly sporting the shade enough for me to 'love' it. I'm a red lip kinda gal - through and through. It's my favourite accessory to top off an outfit.

The brighter the better, in my eyes - and matte. Which is why I fell head over heels for Charlotte Tilbury's brand new Matte Revolution reds that have gorgeous hues of orange, brown, blues respectively. They are silky smooth and buttery in application and a dreamy, vibrant colour that instantly brightens my eyes and complexion.

While Fame Flame and Mark of a Kiss from the brand's new carousel of colours are gorgeous (the former is more paprika red, very femme fatale while the latter is a more soft, muted browned red), my favourite was clear: Hollywood Vixen - I mean, who wouldn't want to look like they're ready to hit the red carpet?

The renowned MUA cited Hollywood Vixen as: "A nuanced bright-red lipstick created in my AWARD-WINNING Matte Revolution formula, infused with 3D-Effect Red Pigments to define the contours of your lips in just ONE SWIPE." Plus, it goes seamlessly with the Lip Cheat in Red Carpet Red for a neat and perfect pout.

With only minimal eye make up on, this lipstick made me feel instantly more glamorous and, if I'm being a bit vain, a bit glowy. Once it was dry, it stayed put for hours on end without the need for reapplication - no smudging or bleeding over my lipline. Plus, it was comfortable and pretty moisturising thanks to the (aptly named) Lipstick Tree Extract. Sometimes, when you've worn lipstick all day, your lips can feel a little dry and in need of TLC - especially in the winter - so I was delighted when I took this lippy off and my lips were silky smooth.

I can totally see this fast becoming my go-to lippy for when I want a confidence boost or just a pop of colour. At £27, its durability and gorgeous colour is completely worth it and I will be using it at any and every given opportunity.

For the days where I'm after a lighter, less impactful lippy, I'll don Rose to Fame or Candy Chic to ease me into my pinkish-lippy wearing era...

Jada Jones loves Hollywood Beauty Icon K.I.S.S.I.N.G in Rose to Fame

Typically I avoid pink lipstick. I often feel like it makes me look silly, like I’m a child playing dress up who can’t get the shade to work. Often it’s too pale or too neon and I want nothing to do with it. So when I saw that there were 5 new K.I.S.S.I.N.G formula shades from Charlotte Tilbury and that they were all pink? I was optimistic but had a feeling I’d still be reaching for Pillow Talk on days I wore lipstick.

I tried 90's Pink first and I really thought it was going to be my favourite until I put on Rose to Fame. My initial response was that it was too dark and I hated it, but the more I looked at it the more I realised I’d pigeonholed what pink lipsticks really were.

It’s definitely the darkest of the range and there’s almost a nude undertone to it which is why I think I’ve ended up liking it so much. It’s not overly bright which has often made me pull back from pink lipsticks. I love the formula, it goes on like butter and feels like lip balm throughout the day and night.

With the reds, which instead had a matte formula, it was hard to pick a favourite. Mark of a Kiss is muted and as a result a really easy to wear daily red lipstick, it has incredible longevity and didn’t budge at all for hours until I sat down to have a bowl of Pho with a friend - even then the Lip Cheat didn’t budge.

Pizzazz is likely my favourite of the reds though, it’s a vibrant blue red and I think effortlessly makes a statement. When you’re wearing a bold red lip isn’t that the whole point?
