A truly remarkable soul, he fought bravely against cancer with unwavering strength and courage.
"Jonnie touched the lives of so many with his kindness, warmth, and infectious spirit. At this time, we kindly ask for the privacy of Jonnie’s family as they navigate through this profound loss. Their grief is immeasurable, and your thoughts, prayers, and support are deeply appreciated. Jonnie may be gone from our sight, but his love, laughter, and memories will live on. Rest in peace, dear Jonnie. You will be dearly missed, but never forgotten."
In his final Instagram post from last weekend, Jonnie shared an update on his home renovations after installing new windows in his home. Jonnie proudly showed off the work as he shared a clip from his house. He captioned the clip: "I was tempted to spray the remaining windows, but after interviewing someone that actually knows what they’re talking about I changed my plans . This more than any other Reno has been a fluid process!"
Last month Jonnie also shared an insight into his gruelling cancer treatment as he shared a tired selfie of himself in hospital. The presenter Jonnie, 50, showed fans the "look of a man who's not slept for six nights" as he awaited a full body MRI scan in hospital. He posted an exhausted photo of himself in a hospital down as he stared into the camera with bloodshot eyes.

Jonnie explained at the start of the year how he was still managing to stay positive. Speaking on the Conversations with Jane McLelland podcast, he explained: "One of the reasons I think I'm still here is I'm not a cancer patient. It's always there at the back of your mind, but I'm living with cancer, not dying with cancer."
Two weeks ago, Jonnie enjoyed a day out to watch Manchester United against Tottenham Hotspurs at Old Trafford. He posted a smiling selfie with his friend and commented: "Spurs away- I’ll take the drawer #manuvspurs." He first announced in November 2022 that he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, having been privately given the diagnosis in 2020 and told he had six months to live. He leaves behind his beloved wife and three young children; Rex, three, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.
