Seattle Seahawks sent message over new head coach as Pete Carroll replaced
The Seattle Seahawks have a new head coach with a 'winning mentality' in Mike Macdonald, believes Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy.
He's just been put in charge of the Seahawks after being praised for doing an ace job as defensive coordinator for the Ravens. In at age 36, Macdonald is now the youngest head coach in the NFL and has quite a reputation for being one of the smartest defensive players in the game.
Even though his Baltimore team didn't make it through the AFC Championship game, they kept Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs from scoring any points in the second half. Van Noy has a lot of good things to say about him, posting on X: "Congrats to Mike Mac dope he got a head coaching gig with a solid organization!"
He went on to say: "My opinion of Mike in my short time in the building he embodied everything it was to be a Raven! The mindset, the competitiveness, leadership, and the winning mindset he brought every day. He also did it in his own way. Was very impressed by him as a coach Seattle got a good one!"
The Seahawks are making a big change by swapping their oldest head coach, Carroll, for the youngest one, Macdonald. He's set to be the eighth boss of the team and he's already said he wants to win the Super Bowl for them.

"What an honor," Macdonald said to the team. "We are super excited to be here. Just getting to know John [Schneider] and the rest of the folks, the reputation of this place, what drew us here was the people. That's why we're here, to bring a championship back to Seattle and the 12s."

Macdonald got his first NFL coaching job with the Ravens in 2014 after working at the University of Georgia. He's been a defensive assistant, coached the defensive backs and linebackers before Harbaugh picked him to be Michigan's defensive coordinator in 2021.
Macdonald quickly returned to Baltimore to take charge of the Ravens' defense for the 2022 season. During his two seasons as defensive coordinator in Baltimore, the team allowed the second-fewest points (17.5) and the sixth-fewest yards (312.8) per game.
