Love Island fans 'rumble' why Toby picked Georgia as Arabella 'blindsided'
Love Island viewers think they know why Toby Aromolaran chose Georgia Steel over current flame Arabella Chi in the recoupling.
The "sneaky" Islander was called a "snake" by some ITV2 viewers, as they commented that he had "blindsided" Arabella in the latest episode. Without warning, he ditched her for ex Georgia during the latest recoupling, leaving Georgia and current flame Callum Jones reeling.
All of the stars around the fire pit were left gasping and calling out the decision, shocked by Toby ditching Arabella for Georgia and not saying anything until they were at the fire pit. While some viewers called it "great TV", others were quick to "work out" his real reasons for ditching Arabella for Georgia - and it has nothing to do with their past romance.
Toby and Georgia dated last year but it didn't work out, so they gave things a go at the start of the All Stars series last month. Things soon fell apart though and the pair stopped talking, with Toby moving on with Arabella and Georgia being in a triangle with Callum and Tom Clare.
But after Georgia and Toby cleared the air during Thursday's episode, a twist saw him pick her over Arabella. Toby said: "Fortune favours the brave, and in this situation you've got to be the bravest."
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesNow, viewers think the shock decision has a lot to do with the recent public vote that revealed the viewers' favourite couples. Toby and Arabella were near the bottom of the list, while Georgia was in second place with Callum.
Viewers now believe Toby made a move towards Georgia again after realising she was possibly popular with viewers. Taking to X, one viewer said: "Toby did that cause he saw how low the public voted him with Arabella," as another wrote: "toby saw how much higher georgia was than him in the public vote."
A third fan commented: "Toby even dumped Chloe when they were voted least popular on their series. He goes for public popularity always." A fourth said: "Toby picked Georgia cause him and Arabella were second to last in the public vote," as a fifth commented: "Toby saw how low him and Arabella ranked in the order the other day and knew he had to swap to Georgia."
It comes as viewers couldn't help but notice Georgia and new girl Joanna Chimonides seemingly ignoring each other in a recent episode. Joanna was the latest bombshell to enter the villa with fellow newcomer Casey O'Gorman on the All Stars series, after four Islanders were dumped from the island.
But fans spotted something about the way Georgia reacted to Joanna's arrival that sparked feud rumours. Not only that, but many fans watching at home then remembered the pair are meant to be best pals, often in videos and Instagram posts together.
Amid friends of the girls admitting the pair may not be on talking terms at the moment, fans were quick to notice the frosty atmosphere between them. Then, as Joanna got to know the existing Islanders, it was quite noticeable that Georgia was not sat with her and didn't seem to be excited to see her close pal.
Not only that, but they were not seen talking to each other at all throughout the episode despite knowing each other. While some fans questioned if it was the editing and maybe they did not show it, viewers were sure there was more to it. Many guessed that the pair would end up discussing their possible feud on the show, sure there was a story there.
