The Royals have "firmly shut the door" on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a royal butler has claimed.

Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell - who worked for the late royal from 1987 to 1997 - believes that any reconciliation between the two parties is highly unlikely because the royals have "no space" for the couple, who now live in Montecito in the US.

There has been a rift between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the firm after they quit their duties for America in 2020. Adding further pressure on to the already fraught relationship, the couple proceeded to reveal several intimate details about the Palace in a series of interviews and their own Netflix docuseries. Prince Harry also penned a tell-all memoir entitled Spare.

And further to their own behaviour, a number of experts linked to the couple have attacked the main royals, including author Omid Scobie, who released two incendiary books about the royals.

Shortly before Christmas, sources close to the couple let slip they wish to start mending their ongoing row with the Royal Family. However after Endgame's release back in November, their relationship became even more frosty, it's believed.

Now Paul Burrell, who worked as Princess Diana's butler from 1987-1997, has come out and said that any reconciliation between the two camps is highly unlikely as the royals have "no space" for the Montecito couple, reports The Express.

He claimed the royals have adopted a new tactic of keeping everything "in-house".

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, he explained: "I don’t think they will ever be invited back with open arms. The doors are firmly shut: I think the royals are consolidating. They are keeping tight-lipped and they are keeping everything in-house. I think that is their tactic: they have regrouped and pulled together and there is no space for Meghan and Harry."

Meanwhile, the former royal butler also speculated that Meghan will end up penning her explosive memoir in the end as he pinpointed the real reason she waited so long for it.

He said: "said: "I am waiting for Meghan to release her own memoir. It is inevitably going to write her side of the story because of how absent she was from Spare, and that is because she is penning her memoir and telling it from a woman's perspective.

"There is no way she is going to stay quiet: she is going to want her side of the story out there and that will do even further damage to the Royal Family and rock them even more."
