A 29-year-old British woman has claimed she was abused in the changing rooms of a bath house in Milan.

The woman was on holiday in the Italian city with some pals when she was attacked in the Porta Romana Baths shortly before 10pm on Monday. Cops have already managed to identify the alleged attacker, with checks now underway to verify the complainant's story thanks to CCTV footage from inside the baths.

According to reports, the alleged victim and the suspect, who is aged around 25, had been drinking together during the evening. Her complaint details how the man asked her to follow him into the men's changing rooms and then a cubicle, where the attack is said to have taken place. Though the young man was arrested, formal charges haven't yet been issued against him.

Local prosecutors ordered the young woman's clothes be seized. A number of hours after the attack, the alleged victim returned to the hotel she was staying at and decided to contact the police.

Cops rushed her to the Mangiagalli clinic where she underwent tests and gave her full statement. She also reportedly spoke to psychologists after the ordeal, according to Corriere Della Sera.

The Milanese Prosecutor's Office is currently examining the woman's accusations and matching them with the footage from inside the bath house. Corriere reported that there were no acts of physical violence on the camera footage, and that the woman followed the attacker into the cubicle.

The woman reportedly told police that she had been so drunk that she was unable to consent to the sex act. She reportedly returned to the UK yesterday.
