Justin Timberlake reacts to ex Britney Spears' apology but fans left unimpressed
Justin Timberlake slammed Britney Spears in a cruel gesture on stage after the singer apologised for including him in her explosive memoir.
The 43-year-old singer faced a vicious backlash after the Toxic hitmaker alleged he had encouraged her to have an abortion back in 2002, as he told Britney he wasn’t ready to be a father. She recalled the heartbreaking moment - which subsequently led to the collapse of their two-year relationship - in her explosive book, The Woman in Me, which was released late last year.
Justin was later subjected to negative reviews of his new single Selfish, and Britney fans got their revenge on the former *NSYNC singer by purchasing Britney’s 2011 single of the same name to dethrone him from the top of the charts. However, the mother-of-two took to social media earlier this week to apologise to Justin directly for mentioning private details of their relationship in her book.

The gig in New York was part of Justin's comeback after a year of drama (Getty Images for MTV)But the singer appears to have reacted badly to his ex-girlfriend's apology, and during his One Night Only gig at the Irving Plaza in New York on Wednesday, he reportedly stunned fans with a furious rant about Britney. “I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise, to absolutely f***ing nobody,” Justin fired, as the crowd whooped and cheered. Others who attended the gig claimed Justin made the comment before singing his infamous break-up hit about their relationship, Cry Me A River.

Fans later voiced their disappointment over Justin’s childish retort as a clip of him on stage went viral, with one simply writing on Twitter: “Justin Timberlake is an asshole.” Others agreed, with one commenting: “CONFIRMED: Justin Timberlake is still a misogynistic piece of f***ing s**t. I don’t understand how y’all think this is “cool” to publicly attack a woman for 20 years.”

She just told what had happened at that time in their relationship in her book, there was no need to take it back, then to compliment his new song, and he reacts this way,” another added.
Fans were mystified when Britney issued an apology to her ex, and in the lengthy post on Instagram, she even heaped praise on Justin’s new single. “I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry…” she wrote. “I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake's new song 'Selfish' It is so good.”
