Tour operator, easyJet Holidays, is giving away free holiday spots for grandparents.

This offer comes after a study showed that half of UK families have never had a holiday abroad with their grandparents. The deal lets elder relatives go on family holidays to top European destinations such as Spain, Greece, and Italy, completely free of charge.

According to a survey by the firm, over half of the 2,000 Brits questioned wish they spent more time with their grandparents on holidays.

Matt Callaghan, the boss at easyJet Holidays said: "We're proud to offer thousands of free kids' places. But we feel it's time to recognise the grandparents."

He added, "This research shows how important grandparent and grandchild relationships are and how much can be learned from making time for them." Among the most popular choices for a multi-generational holiday abroad were Spain, Italy and France.

The offer starts today and will be available for a limited number of customers. To qualify, the grandparent must be travelling as part of a family booking with at least one child and they must be able to show proof of age and relation upon arrival at the destination hotel.
