Tom Brady explains what he really thinks of Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy
Seven-time NFL champion Tom Brady shared his thoughts on Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy ahead of Super Bowl LVIII.
Brady, who holds the record for the most Super Bowl wins, has had a successful career spanning two decades, only missing the playoffs once in 2002 and having a single losing season in 2022.
Known as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Brady often shares his insights gained from years of top-level competition. Speaking about Purdy and Mahomes, he highlighted their common qualities and expressed his respect for them. "I've been where Brock's been, and I'm fortunate to be where Patrick's been, and I can definitely relate to both," Brady told The Boardroom. "I have a lot of respect for Patrick and what he's accomplished. He's a real competitor. He is a winner."
"And there's a part of this world that's so self-focused right now, very self-serving. What I really respect about Patrick is he does the work, he puts the time in. And Brock in the same way. He's got great values. The team cares about him. A lot of people talk a lot of rubbish about him, and he doesn't seem to care. He just goes about his work and gets the job done."
Brady bagged his seventh championship and fifth Super Bowl MVP three years ago. Interestingly, his most recent championship was with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 31-9 victory over Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brady's willingness to share his wisdom shows his eagerness to help nurture the next generation of football stars.
During a recent episode of Brady's Let's Go! podcast, he commended Purdy's composure in the San Francisco 49ers' comeback win over the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship game. Detroit had a 24-7 halftime lead but allowed Purdy to lead the team to 27 consecutive points, finishing the game with 267 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
"He made some big plays with his feet, moving the ball down the field, and [I] thought that he led the team to a great victory," said Brady. "So, I think he's done terrific."
Mahomes is set to face off against Purdy in the Super Bowl LVIII on 11th February. The match will be held at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where he'll aim to secure another Lombardi Trophy for his team.
