Former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers smiled outside court after being cleared of harassing his ex-girlfriend Talia Oatway.

The 36-year-old reality star had been accused of harassment without violence between January and June 2023. However, the case against Chalmers was thrown out by the judge when Oatway - the only witness in the case - failed to show up to give evidence.

Chalmers - who appeared on MTV’s Geordie Shore from 2014 until 2018 and again in 2022 - waved to cameras and smiled while outside court on Tuesday. He wore a navy suit, a polka dot tie, white shirt, and a pair of dark coloured shoes. Saba Shan, who was prosecuting, informed the court that Oatway had not arrived and was not answering her phone. She told the court: “We can't prove the case without her. The Crown cannot offer any evidence.”

Chalmers’ defence, lead by Jason Smith, agreed that the case could not go on and should be dismissed. Chalmers and Oatway had been in a relationship for five years and welcomed three children together. Their relationship had an on-off nature but ended for good in 2022 following a series of rows - with Chalmers making a string of claims against Oatway in a since-deleted video that he shared online following the break up. Lashing out at his ex in the video, the reality star said: “People can see past your bulls**t”.

Chalmers has since built up a career as a boxer after initially finding fame on Georgie Shore. Speaking of his career change to the Daily Mail in the past, the star said: “I used to do Muay Thai when I was a teenager but I never got to fight because I went to work on an oil rig so I had to give it up.

“It was always in the back of my mind. Later in my life, I was sat on the beach, four years into Geordie Shore and my manager said what's your plans after GS? I said I just want to have one MMA fight.” He added: “His brother was a matchmaker for a big MMA promotion. That was seven years ago and I'm still here so I must have done something right.” Following the end of his court case, the star has taken to social media to report videos about on stage fights.

In one video, shared several hours after he was snapped outside court, the star expressed his opinions ahead of a bout between Jonas Magard and Jack Cartwright that concluded on Saturday.
