Gemma Collins under fire as eagle-eyed fans spot strange detail in new photo
Gemma Collins has been told to “practise what you preach” after fans spotted a strange detail in her latest social media post.
The GC took to Instagram to share a pic of herself and a pal with a glass of fizz in hand at they lived it up at the posh Mandarin Oriental hotel near London’s Hyde Park over the weekend.
In the caption, the former The Only Way Is Essex star urged her two million followers: “Happy Sunday everyone. Spring is coming!!! Hold on in there keep connecting to Mother Nature and your higher self!! Do you spend your time constantly on the phone and not living life!! Ditch the phone today get out the sun is shining go breathe in the air.”
She then asked fans to answer this question: “If someone said to you 10 years ago you was going to be stuck all day looking at a phone what would you have said... comment below.” But fans were quick to point out that in the photo Gemma’s own phone was out on the table.

Come on Gem put it away,” said one fan, as another chimed in: “Are you making this post whilst on your phone? Which is on in front of you at the dinner table. Joke.” A third wrote: “Practice what you preach, put your phone away” as a fourth commented: “Her phone is literally on the table!”

But while some fans were quick to criticise, others liked Gemma’s sentiment. One hit back at the negative comments to say: “Well said Gem xx.” Another wrote: “That is so true and I’m doing just that. Thanks for making me think twice.” A third took her advice and said: “We’ve gone out to the park for the last two hours it’s been lovely.” While another follower leapt to her defence and added: “All you with the negative comments... so what... it’s just one pic with her phone showing. Stop being judgmental and get over yourself.”
Gemma’s latest post comes days after fans were appalled after she shared a video letting her dog Blue guzzle a plate of food at the table at a restaurant. The TV star allowed her pet whippet to wolf down scrambled eggs and sausage as she joined pop pair for brunch.
Recording the moment, Gemma – who turns 43 this week - was heard saying: "Are you a Hampstead dog now? Are you my Hampstead doggie?" She thought her followers would love the clip when she uploaded it to Instagram, but many were left unimpressed and branded it “disgusting”.
"OMG Gemma I am really sorry but that’s disgusting. It’s so unhygienic," said one person followed by a sick face emoji. A second person told the reality star: "That's disgusting, I would never let my dog do that to my own plates, never mind in public!" Another added: "And to think even though that plate is washed why would you want to use it after a dog has licked it all over (disgusting)."
