The Traitors winner Harry Clark breaks silence on 'romance' with Mollie Pearce
The Traitors may have come to a dramatic close last Friday, but questions remain about the hit BBC show.
In an epic twist, the final episode of season two saw Traitor Harry Clark steal the £95,000 prize pot from Faithful Mollie Pearce, whom he had tricked into believing he was on her side throughout the reality game show. The brutal moment when he revealed he was indeed a Traitor was heartwrenching, as it came after Mollie made the tough decision to believe him once again for a final time, writing Jaz on her blackboard instead.
The gripping season started with 22 players, but the bond between Mollie and Harry was undeniable, as the two youngest in the castle formed an instant connection. And Harry credits his position in the final thanks to 'best friend' Mollie, who was loved by all the players.
It is widely known that the 22-year-old army engineer has a famous girlfriend, Conor Maynard's sister and BBC presenter Anna Maynard, whom he has been with for two years. But as Harry and Mollie's friendship blossomed, and as it was speculated that Harry had allegedly been cheated on, rumours swirled there was something more between them.
During Monday's This Morning on ITV, Harry finally addressed the rumours about the 'connection' between himself and the 21-year-old disability model, revealing they're both in happy, committed relationships with other people. In conversation with presenters Rylan Clark and Rochelle Humes, Harry said: "I wanted to mention Mollie obviously as well because of our connection, and to put it out there for all the rumours, there is no romance involved.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likeness"I've got an amazing girlfriend who I love dearly. She has an amazing boyfriend who I have met, he's a legend. He added: "So I feel a bit sorry for them as we are just two young people who built a genuine connection and I know more about her boyfriend than I do about Mollie and she knows more about my girlfriend than she does about me because that’s how we connected."
Molly also confirmed that despite the betrayal, things are fine between the pals. The final saw devastated Mollie walk away from the Roundtable in disbelief, returning back to the Scottish castle in shock, however it was never shown how things ended with the Traitor.
During the aftershow Traitors Uncloaked, she explained how tough it was not to banish him, saying: "Deep down I probably knew, but in that moment I couldn't do it." The following morning in an interview with BBC Breakfast, Mollie revealed they were on good terms, and that she had even been promised a holiday.
"We saw each other pretty soon after and he promised me a holiday, so I'm pretty happy with that," she said. "But no, we're fine. I mean, it was a game at the end of the day, we all signed up for it. You know, you go in there with a chance of getting hurt. So yeah, no, it's all good vibes here, right?"
Host Rachel Burden quizzed the pair on their first conversation after the big revelation. Mollie replied: "I just called him a name and then we had a big hug. I think in that moment, you've got to just laugh about it, to be honest. I just said to him 'Fair play'."
In an exclusive chat with the Mirror, Mollie also lifted the lid on who reached out to who to rekindle their friendship. "It was a mutual thing - we spoke after," she said. "We had quite a big laugh, to be honest. You know, you are good friends and someone had to win and we weren't on the same team. It was either going to be me or him, so it would only be on the opposite foot if I didn't change my vote."
Opening up to her fellow contestants during one episode, Mollie confessed that she had harboured doubts about ever having a relationship after getting her stoma bag, but has since found strength in her differences. Mollie shared: "Obviously as an 18-year-old, getting told that you have to have a bag stuck to you for the rest of your life, you're thinking, 'Oh my God, I'm never going to be able to wear anything again, never going to be able to go swimming again, never get a boyfriend again."
It would appear however that Mollie is happily loved-up with boyfriend Max, who she described as her 'bestest friend' in one touching Instagram post. The adoring couple have been together since at least July 2021, and appear to have a shared love of travel, often sharing holiday snaps from sunkissed destinations such as Greece, Lanzarote and Italy.
