Britney apologises to Justin Timberlake as he relaunches career after her memoir
Britney Spears has apologised to Justin Timberlake for the claims she made in her book and said she loves her ex-boyfriend's new music.
The 42-year-old singer took to Instagram to say she is "deeply sorry" if she offended any of the people she cares about in her bombshell memoir "The Woman In Me". In the book, Britney accused Justin - whom she dated from 1999 until 2002 - of forcing her to get an abortion and also claimed he cheated on her multiple times.
She wrote: "I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. He said we weren't ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young."

She also wrote he made her look like a "harlot who'd broken the heart of America's golden boy" when they broke up. But on Sunday, Britney posted a clip of Justin from his recent appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" to apologise for the claims and also praise Justin's two new songs, "Selfish" and "Sanctified".

If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry." She added: "I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song 'Selfish'. It is soo good and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy together I laugh so hard ??? Ps 'Sanctified' is wow too."
Earlier this month, Justin appeared to have deleted or archived every single post from his account, and only started posting again two weeks ago. The 42-year-old had been using the social media platform up until the end of 2023, with his wife Jessica Biel also sharing posts of them to her own account.
He headlined the opening of the new Fontainebleau hotel in Las Vegas in December 2023 and Jessica posted a picture of the pair dressed up for the event. She wrote: "On our suit and tie s–t," adding a heart emoji to caption the pictures referencing Timberlake’s 2013 song Suit & Tie. Justin appeared to have been keeping a relatively low profile up until the performance following a string of revelations in Britney's book.
In October 2023, Britney divulged intimate details of her relationship with Justin. The memoir included allegations that both of them had cheated during their romance. Justin famously alluded to Britney being unfaithful following their split in his hit song Cry Me A River.
She wrote in the book: "I felt there was no way at the time to tell my side of the story. I couldn't explain, because I knew no one would take my side once Justin had convinced the world of his version. I don't think Justin realised the power he had in shaming me. I don't think he understands to this day."
She also revealed in the book that Justin had broken up with her by text, admitting she felt "devastated" after the split. She also shocked fans by admitting she had fallen pregnant while dating Justin and had a termination.
She wrote: "But Justin definitely wasn't happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn't want to be a father."
