Neighbours legend won't have a funeral as truth behind sad death revealed
Neighbours star Troy Beckwith, 48, will not be having a funeral, as per the late actor's final wish.
The late soap star, best known known for his role as Michael Martin on Neighbours from 1992 to 1998, passed away following a "tough battle with cancer" his family have confirmed, following Troy's sister and one of his former co-stars announcing his death on social media over the weekend.

It's also been announced that there will be no funeral for Troy, in accordance with the late actor's last request.
It's thought only Troy's nearest and dearest knew about his cancer diagnosis prior to his death. Troy's sister, Juanita Sanger, initially announced the heart-breaking news of her brother's via a social media post, writing: "Troy we will always remember that most mischievous, contagious laugh. Everyone loved you."
She continued: "Boy did we have fun growing up. A free spirit that couldn't be held down. And the stories...we could write a book! I know mum will be so happy to be reunited with her boy. Peace at last. #cancersux".

But it's his time playing one of Aussie soap Neighbours' most memorable villains that most knew the late actor for.
Troy's Neighbours co-star Kym Valentine shared the news of his death on Facebook, saying: "It pains me so much to have to say this. Our dear old friend Troy Beckwith has passed away. Another member of our TV family gone way too soon. There will be no funeral as per Troy's request."
She added: "Thanks for all the memories my cheeky mate and all my love to your friends and family." After Kym shared her touching tribute online, Neighbours casting director Jan Russ also reacted to the sad new, writing: "Oh no!!! Dear Troy... That is so sad...gorgeous boy."
The official Instagram account also uploaded a tribute to Troy, writing: "Everyone here at Neighbours was very saddened to hear of the passing of Troy Beckwith. Fans will remember Troy for his memorable role as Michael Martin in the 1990s. We send our love and condolences to his loved ones at this very difficult time. Executive Producer, Jason Herbison says: 'Everyone at Neighbours remembers Troy as a very talented young actor who brought passion and complexity to the role of Michael. Our thoughts are with his loved ones'."
After his stint playing villain Michael on Neighbours cam to an end, Troy went on to appear in State Coroner, Blue Heelers and 1999 comedy Caffeine. In 2017, Troy sparked concern when it was reported that he was missing. Police shared at that time that his family were worried due to a medical condition he had but didn't share further details.
Sen-Constable Kristen Hill of Cranbourne Police said at the time: "He's got his mobile phone, he contacted his partner, saying an appointment had been cancelled and that was the last time she heard from him." Troy was found safe and sound thirteen days after the missing report. The police had suggested he might have been staying in Melbourne hostels.
