ICYMI - Fresh Zirkzee transfer clause emerges

Bayern Munich will be able to match any transfer bid for Joshua Zirkzee, it has been revealed.

The 22-year-old striker is being sought after by a host of clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal.

Hannibal handed reality check by Sevilla boss just weeks after move from Man Utd

Hannibal Mejbri been dumped by his new boss at Sevilla - less than a fortnight after his loan switch from Manchester United.

Despite a bright start to the campaign at Old Trafford, Hannibal soon fell down the midfield pecking order in the eyes of Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag. As a result, the Dutchman sent the Tunisia international out on loan to the La Liga outfit in a bid to continue his progression.

However, the former Monaco academy graduate has hardly an ideal start to life at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium and has already been the subject of a critical speech from Sevilla manager Quique Sanchez Flores, who made clear the midfielder needs time to adjust.

Flores explained that Hannibal would be omitted from the Sevilla matchday squad for their home clash against Osasuna. He told reporters: "After being with him, talking to him and having seen his first minutes in Girona, we are going to give him the necessary space to understand where he is, that he is at Sevilla and what it means.

Newcastle ready to sell Wilson for £18m

Newcastle are ready to sell Callum Wilson for just £18million, according to a new report from The Sun.

The England striker has emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United and plenty of other clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Magpies must sell before they can buy due to Financial Fair Play and Wilson, who has just 18 months left on his current contract, could be available for a bargain price.

ICYMI: Bayern set to bag Boey

Sacha Boey has long been linked with Manchester United - but the right-back is now poised to join Bayern Munich.

That's according to Sky Germany, who claim a deal has been done for the Galatasaray star.

Erik ten Hag is expected to target a new right-back in the summer.

Olise and Man Utd: A match made in heaven?

Manchester United want Michael Olise. And apparently, he wants Manchester United.

That's according to football.london, who claim Olise would favour a move to Old Trafford rather than linking up with Chelsea.

On paper, it's exactly the type of signing United should be looking to make: a young, Premier League proven player who is years from his peak.

United's attacking signings have not lived up to the hype in recent years; Antony and Jadon Sancho have flopped and Rasmus Hojlund has hardly hit the ground running.

Would Olise stop the rot? We reckon he just might...

Hannibal to be left out by Sevilla

Sevilla have announced Hannibal Mejbri will not be available for selection for the foreseeable future following a disappointing start to his loan spell.

The Manchester United midfielder linked up with the La Liga outfit earlier this month.

But head coach Quique Sanchez Flores has now revealed he will not feature going forward, saying: "After being with him, talking to him and having seen his first minutes in Girona, we are going to give him the necessary space to understand where he is, that he is at Sevilla and what it means."

Newcastle issue Wilson hands-off warning

Eddie Howe has insisted Newcastle will not be selling Callum Wilson this month.

A host of clubs, including Manchester United, have been linked with the Magpies forward.

Ten Hag confirms no striker signing

Erik ten Hag has confirmed that signing a striker this month is not viable.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with striking reinforcements - but Ten Hag has stressed that Financial Fair Play will prevent them from doing so.

"I looked, but there is no space," said the Dutchman. "No space on Financial Fair Play to do something about this lack of quantity in the striker position.

"Of course, Rashford can play as a striker, we have some other alternatives and it's clear Anthony is out for a couple of months so it's a gap in our squad, clear."

Confirmed: Osimhen to leave Napoli in the summer

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis haas confirmed Victor Osimhen will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

Manchester United are one of the clubs linked with the prolific frontman, who is swiftly becoming the most sought-after attacker in world football.

Osimhen revealed this week he had decided on the "next step" he will take at the end of the season and De Laurentiis has now conceded that will be away from Naples.

"This was already known since this summer, our negotiations [over the new contract] were friendly, otherwise it would not have been so long," De Laurentiis said (via Evening Standard). We knew he would go to Real Madrid, PSG or a top English club.”

ICYMI: United weigh up Oblak move

Atletico Madrid are willing to listen to offers for goalkeeper Jan Oblak as Manchester United eye up a move, according to Todo Fichajes.

It's said the Red Devils are weighing up an offer worth £38.5million for the Slovenian, which could be enough to lure him away from Atletico.

It remains to be seen if United would actively seek an upgrade on Andre Onana less than a year after signing him for big bucks.

But Oblak is one of the best goalkeepers in the world - and stranger things have happened in football...

Olise favours Man Utd move

Michael Olise would prefer to join Manchester United rather than Chelsea in the summer.

That's according to football.london, who claim the Crystal Palace winger is set to be pursued again. by Chelsea, who tried to sign him last summer.

Olise has emerged as a top target for United, who are expected to firm up their interest in the summer transfer window.

Ten Hag's transfer admission: what it means

So, Erik ten Hag has made it pretty clear that Manchester United are unlikely to sign a striker this month because of Financial Fair Play.

That feels like a bit of a problem.

Of course, there's every chance United could still find some wriggle room and bring someone in. They've pulled off surprise loan deals in the past.

But if Ten Hag's warning does ring true, then United will have to see out the season short on firepower.

United beaten to wonderkid

Atletico Madrid have beaten the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal to the signing of Belgian wonderkid Arthur Vermeeren.

The 18-year-old midfielder has attracted attention from Europe's big clubs with his performances for Royal Antwerp.

Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Barcelona were among the teams monitoring his progress, but Atletico have stolen a march on all their competitors by swooping for his signature.

According to The Sun, Atleti will pay £15.4m, potentially rising to £19.7m with add-ons, while Antwerp have negotiated a 10 percent sell-on clause in the deal. Vermeeren has penned a six-and-a-half-year contract in Madrid, the club has confirmed.

United warned over Sancho issue

Manchester United's recent track record in the transfer market is chequered, to say the least, but few deals have aged as badly as the £73million capture of Jadon Sancho.

The England winger, 24, was one of Europe's most sought-after commodities at the time following a highly productive four-year stint at Borussia Dortmund. But two-and-a-half years on, Sancho's Old Trafford career is all but over.

He was farmed out to his former club on loan earlier this month after a bitter fall-out with Erik ten Hag and is not expected to feature under the Dutchman going forward.

And even before he feuded with Ten Hag, Sancho had fallen short of expectations after failing to replicate his impressive Dortmund form on these shores.

€100m bid rejected

Manchester United failed with an audacious €100m (£85m) bid to sign Sergei Milinkovic-Savic, Lazio's former sporting director has claimed.

The Serbian midfielder has been on United's radar for some time but eventually moved to Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal in the summer with his Lazio contract expiring.

That proved to be a huge financial hit for Lazio, who received €40m (£34m) in return, having turned down bids of €100m (£85m) from United and AC Milan while Milinkovic-Savic was at the club.

"Many things have been said about Milinkovic-Savic that are not true, from losing him as a free agent to the idea he didn’t want to stay," Igli Tare told TV Play [via Football Italia].

"The only true thing is that President Claudio Lotito rejected a very important offer, worth over €100m, from Milan and Manchester United. I don’t want to get into why the sale did not go through, as Lotito wanted to maintain a strong squad and keep the promises he had made to the coach."

Osimhen exit confirmed

Osimhen revealed this week he had decided on the "next step" he will take at the end of the season and De Laurentiis has now conceded that will be away from Naples.

Bayindir set for United debut

Altay Bayindir will start in goal for Manchester United in the absence of Andre Onana against Newport on Sunday.

Bayindir is yet to make a single appearance for United since joining from Fenerbahce last summer but will now make his Red Devils debut against the League Two side in the FA Cup.

Onana is still out at the African Cup of Nations with Cameroon, who face Nigeria in the last 16 tomorrow night.

"He (Bayindir) will be in the goal," said Ten Hag. "He has waited for his chance, but he is experienced, he played for a big club in Turkey under big pressure.

"So he knows how to deal with it. We were convinced [by him] and so we are looking forward to Sunday. Altay is waiting for this moment and this is his moment."

Man Utd will NOT sign a striker this month

Erik ten Hag says Manchester United cannot afford to bring a striker in before the transfer window shuts.

United have struggled for goals this season, scoring just 24 in the Premier League, with forwards Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund failing to find the net on a consistent basis.

With fellow striker Anthony Martial sidelined for two months after groin surgery, United's goalscoring options have been further restricted, but Ten Hag said there is no money to bring in a new striker – even on loan – because of spending restrictions imposed due Financial Fair Play.

"I looked, but there is no space," said Ten Hag. "No space on Financial Fair Play to do something about this lack of quantity in the striker position.

"Of course, Rashford can play as a striker, we have some other alternatives and it's clear Anthony is out for a couple of months so it's a gap in our squad, clear."

Gore on Vale move

Manchester United midfielder Dan Gore has explained why he decided to join League One Port Vale, after a loan deal was confirmed earlier this month.

He said: "Well, I think from the first time I've come here to see the place and meet everyone, I just knew straight away. Because I got a feeling it's just like a family. Everyone was very welcoming.

"I've obviously seen Port Vale play and they play very good football.

"My dad was shocked. He was like: 'Son, you've got to go there'. He just knew they'd take care of me and obviously, at this stage of my career, I need that because I'm still developing. He knew, straight away, he got the best feeling from here."

Antony's agent on future

Antony's agent has confirmed the former Ajax winger is not focusing on a move away for the time being. Speaking to United In Focus, Junior Pedroso said: "Manchester has so far not communicated any interest in transferring him in either the January or summer window.

"Antony is focused on these four months of the season so he can improve his performance, knowing that he needs to score goals and assists. This is his focus. Today our head is on Manchester United.

"He knows very well that he needs to score, there’s no point in just playing good games, he has to score goals and provide assists. He is very coherent about this. He will come back different, his head has become a little key and certainly in these four months he will show much more than he showed this season."

Man Utd 'could make Wilson move'

Manchester United could potentially make a bargain move for Newcastle striker Callum Wilson over the closing days of the transfer window. According to the Evening Standard, the Red Devils are on alert after being told of his potential availability.

It is suggested that Wilson could be sold by Newcastle for around £18m, with the Magpies needing to sell players to comply with Premier League spending rules. However, Ten Hag's side could face competition if they make a move.

It is suggested that both Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in Wilson, with the London pair both needing attacking additions.

Coughlan's Man Utd warning

Newport boss Graham Coughlan has warned Manchester United to expect a hostile atmopshere when Erik ten Hag's side travel to Rodney Parade in the FA Cup.

He said: "Irrespective this season whether we've been winning, losing or drawing, our fans have got right behind us and at times dragged us over the line.

"That's unique and a strength of this football club and community. You can hear everything (on the touchline), sometimes you don't want to, because they're that close.

"They're on top of you and it's a unique atmosphere. It is hostile, it is noisy, and when they start beating that drum it’s an atmosphere to savour."

Atletico willing to sell Oblak

Atletico Madrid are willing to listen to offers for goalkeeper Jan Oblak as Manchester United eye up a move, according to Todo Fichajes.

It's said the Red Devils are weighing up an offer worth £38.5million for the Slovenian, which could be enough to lure him away from Atletico.
