Mum who wheeled baby round store in just a diaper on freezing day is arrested
A woman who took her baby to Walmart dressed only in a nappy on a freezing day has been arrested and charged with child neglect.
Kambria Gabrielle Darby, 26, was held by police in the car park of the store in Byram, Mississippi, at about 10.30am on January 17. Officers discovered another shopper bought the two-year-old boy a long-sleeved shirt and trousers and dressed him in the store, but he was still "freezing and shaking" due to sub-zero temperatures.
Police put the boy in a warm car and called paramedics to assess him. He was then taken away by Child Protective Services and released to a relative, along with his two siblings.

She was confronted by a Walmart worker and other shoppers (WJTV News)Darby was charged with contributing to the neglect or delinquency of a child and booked into Hinds County Detention Center. If convicted, she faces up to six years in prison.

Supermarket worker Felicia Nicole decided to confront Darby along with members of the public as one of them covered the child in their black jacket. Nicole went on to film the incident and said she was later sacked for uploading the footage online. Temperatures had dipped to 37F, or 2C, that day, and Nicole claims the conditions were at 20F or colder when the pair entered the store.

"What's wrong with you?", one man asked the mum as she tossed items next to her son in the trolley. The mum could be heard telling the man to lower his voice, she then turned to the worker and said police had already been called on her twice after shoppers threatened to call the authorities.
Nicole turned to her and said: "When you come in the store fully dressed and your baby's not..." The mother replied, "how many kids you got?" before she pushed her trolley towards the frozen food section of the store.

Kind shoppers gave the child some clothes (WJTV News)Another clip shows a woman on a mobility scooter dressing the toddler in a long-sleeved top and trousers that she has purchased for him, while the mom stands there scrolling through her phone. Nicole later posted an update online and said that police were called to intervene. She said: "Yes, we did call the police. I mean, why wouldn't we? Why wouldn't we?
"When you see a child that's being neglected, don't have on any clothes, just a diaper, no shoes, no socks, no shirt, no nothing. So why wouldn't we call the police?" The Walmart worker said she did have a son but he tragically died. "If my child was living, ain't no way in hell my child would be out there with no clothes on, just a diaper," she said.
