Sunderland haven't given up on signing Amad

As the final week of the January transfer window continues to tick away, EFL clubs are frantically trying to conclude their final bits of business before deadline day.

Many clubs across all three divisions are still yet to complete important deals which could help them over the line this season - but will some come up short?

Clubs around the country have until 11pm on February 1 to finish their business, so there might be some shock deals before the winter transfer window shuts.

Here are the latest EFL transfer rumours, along with insight from our EFL72 team - you can also sign up for our daily EFL newsletter below...

Sunderland maintain Amad interest

The saga of Manchester United winger Amad Diallo seemed to be over for this window but it appears Sunderland remain interested in a potential deal this month. The Ivorian was on loan in the North East last season, scoring 14 times in 40 appearances, but his parent club had made it clear that he was in their plans.

However, the Manchester Evening News report that the Black Cats have reiterated their interest in signing the 21-year-old, with sporting director Kristjaan Speakman making his feelings known before the end of the transfer window."We have a positive relationship with the boy, his people and Manchester United," he said. "Can he improve us? Yes. Have we enquired? Yes. Have we kept in contact with him? Yes. My head would be on a stake if not."

EFL72 says:"Given Man Utd's stance at the start of this window, it really would be a surprise to see Amad back in a red and white shirt for the rest of this season. However, stranger things have happened, and should the call come through near to deadline day then there may be a scramble for his signature."

Villa eye second EFL target

Aston Villa are reportedly monitoring the progress of Norwich forward Jonathan Rowe, according to the Daily Mail. Unai Emery's side are continuing to push for late moves in this month's window, having already made several offers for Middlesbrough's Morgan Rogers.

Rowe has impressed for the Canaries in the Championship so far this season, scoring 12 times in 27 appearances and recently received a call-up to England's under-21 squad. The 20-year-old emerged as a potential target for Villa following another rejected bid for Rogers this week and is contracted at Carrow Road until 2025.

EFL72 says:"Villa are making it clear with which sort of players they're looking for from the second-tier, with Rowe another up and coming forward in the division. He's arguably had the better season out of the two targets and could prove to be the better option if Boro drag out negotiations for Rogers."

Ipswich keen on Wimbledon striker

Championship promotion chasers Ipswich are said to be keen on a move for AFC Wimbledon striker Ali Al-Hamadi. According to a report from the East Anglian Daily Times, Kieran McKenna's side have identified the Iraq international as a major target for this window.

Al-Hamadi has scored 27 goals in 48 appearances for Wimbledon and received an impressive call-up for his national side for the AFC Asian Cup. It is understood that the South London side will ask for a fee of around £1.5m for the 21-year-old.

EFL72 says:"Al-Hamadi is one of the top prospects from the lower tiers of the EFL and has been very impressive in his short stint in League Two. He's already been linked with a number of clubs in the Championship and an international call-up will only aid his development. Ipswich are know to be after a forward in this window and this could be a bit of a shrewd signing if it happens."

Wales star puts EFL duo on red alert

Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks is said to be receiving late interest from the Championship this month, with both Leeds and Southampton interested in his signature. The 26-year-old has struggled for regular game time this season and could be in the market for a move if his situation is not set to improve.

Reports claim that both Championship sides would be interested in securing a loan deal for the Welsh international until the end of the season.

Midlands pair interested in striker

Leicester and Stoke are believed to be interested in a move for Norwich striker Abu Kamara. The 20-year-old has impressed on-loan at Portsmouth this season, scoring seven goals and recording four assists, and TeamTALK claim that both clubs would be looking to take him permanently.

Kamara has less than 18 months left of his current deal at Carrow Road and could spark a transfer battle between the two Midlands clubs before the end of the window.

Blackburn plot rival raid

Blackburn are plotting a move for Queens Park Rangers defender Jimmy Dunne, according to Football Insider. Dunne is into the final six months of his current deal at Loftus Road and had been targeted by Rovers, who recently saw loanee James Hill recalled by parent club Bournemouth.
