People in stitches at estate agent's cheeky house advert about his mum
Typically housing listing for expensive properties are taken particularly seriously by the sellers, who ensure their home description captivates potential buyers. But, one man has got people talking about his stunning London home thanks to his humorous advert.
The seller left people in stitches as he kept referencing his mum in the listing on Rightmove. The stunning Eton Avenue property in north-west London is on the market for a whopping £2.9 million. The luxury apartment boasts three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a huge kitchen with a wine fridge, stunning period features, and a south face private garden with a sauna.
But, according to the seller, the property's most unique selling point and a "key feature" is that his mum lives three doors down. "Have my mum as your neighbour," he said. He also points out that it is close a private school he previously attended.
The advert, by Kire estate agents says: "Have my mum as your neighbour! There are many great reasons to come and live in this stunning garden maisonette on Eton Avenue, but the fact my mum lives three doors away has to be the top one.
"There’s no doubt that I am biased, and in reality, many of you will love the fact it was refurbished only two years ago and the 3.5m ceiling heights in the reception or prefer the vast 72’ south facing, sun-soaked garden with sauna, or place a higher value on having a magnificent eat-in kitchen, with the table next to some of the most beautiful windows I have ever seen and overlooking those gardens."

"Some deluded people will think that having a three double bedroom apartment (all en-suite), with the master bedroom opening directly onto the garden, is better than having her close by, but that’s because you haven’t met her yet."
The seller added: "With Swiss Cottage (Jubilee) Underground 0.2 miles away and Belsize Park 0.7 miles (Northern Line), you can easily be in Mayfair or Canary Wharf. BUT of course, the best thing about this area is (you guessed it) having my mum 30m away!".
After the listing was shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by Sara Manny, @saramanning, a number of people rushed to share their thoughts. Sarah said: "The estate agent's particulars are all about their mum. Despite myself and my prejudices about the kind of estate agents who flog £3million garden flats, I am charmed."
One individual said: "Love it. It’s also quite close to my mum so double plus." "What an absolutely beautiful space," added another. "I hope the estate agent's mum is carrying out the viewings," joked another.
Another commented: "This is very sweet, although a bit of me wants it to have been written by a chirpy work experience student in the office who has accidentally been allowed to upload the particulars, without someone checking them first."
