Claudia Winkleman is the iconic face of BBC's The Traitors, which is set to come to a dramatic close tonight.

Throughout the hit series, fans have been commenting on the presenter's incredible outfits and trademark hair - but the thing that stands out the most to viewers is how she maintains such a glowing complexion. Over the years, Claudia has imparted the knowledge behind the techniques she's tried and tested for a long-lasting tan, which has left her admittedly 'burnt orange'.

But some may be shocked at the lengths she goes to to achieve her sun-kissed look. She's even gone as far as to admit: "When I'm orange, I feel better."

Claudia admitted that she has three fake tans a week to maintain her appearance, joking that she's "burnt orange." She also said: "I will use anything for my fake tan. I would use gravy. I have used mud before. I will use a brown Sharpie."

She also stands by the mantra "There is no such thing as too orange". And when it comes to removing her fake tan, she sticks to kitchen items. The star has been known to steal the kitchen table salt and a classic scouring sponge to remove old fake tan - but her husband Kyle isn't fond of this method.

Speaking on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing she explained with a joke: "To scrub it off, I use table salt and a scourer - I have asked my husband to do it, but it's not good for foreplay."

The star has also joked about her commitment to looking brown, as she revealed another unique method whilst at university. She told Graham Norton: "When I was at university, I got rid of the bed and hired a sunbed instead - it was super cosy, and I was fluorescent! I love being orange."

However her dedication to orange can be dangerous. Regarding sunbed use, the NHS states: "Sunbeds give out ultraviolet (UV) rays that increase your risk of developing skin cancer, both skin cancer (melanoma) and skin cancer (non-melanoma). Many sunbeds give out greater doses of UV rays than the midday tropical sun."

Claudia has also previously revealed that when her finances couldn't stretch to the sunbed at university, she would raid the kitchen cupboards with Bisto gravy, mud and even old tea bags, all being used to give a distinctive tanned look.

In an interview with online fashion magazine Sheer Luxe, Claudia spoke about her favourite self-tanning products, where she said she'd used everything from gravy granules to used tea bags. After revealing her go-to home remedies, she named her favourite shop-bought tan. "I'll tell you my favourite, Dr Dennis Gross." The brand doesn't come cheap, however, with a pack of 20 2.2ml facial tanning wipe s setting buyers back a whopping £39.
