Lorraine Kelly slams Brooklyn Beckham's Uber Eats collaboration as 'pointless'
ITV host Lorraine Lorraine Kelly, has branded Brooklyn Beckham's Uber Eats collaboration as 'pointless'.
During Thursday's instalment of Lorraine, the Scottish TV presenter 64, hit out at Brooklyn’s latest career venture after the eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham announced his partnership with fast food giant, Uber Eats. Brooklyn, 24, has launched his own menu on the delivery service app. The menu consists of five different dishes inspired by his 'global upbringing', which includes a range of sandwiches, a chicken tikka masala, a wagyu bolognese, and an English breakfast sandwich.
After getting wind of Brooklyn's latest career venture, Lorraine didn't hold back when sharing her thoughts as she asked 'what's the point?' in the amateur chef's new collaboration. After Lorraine was informed that Brooklyn wouldn't be making any of the food on the menu, she said on her show: "Oh shut up! What is the point? I'm the worst cook in the world and even I could do that."
Lorraine even got to sample one of Brooklyn's masterpieces off the menu as his signature English breakfast sandwich was delivered to the ITV studios, but was left unimpressed by the glorified hero sandwich.
Despite Lorraine's reaction, it seems that Brooklyn couldn't be happier with his new venture. “I’ve always been into trying different foods, cuisines, and cultures, but that was one of my earliest memories of loving cooking. Spending time in the kitchen is definitely something me and my dad bond over," he told the press.
Nicola Peltz's texts revealed as her billionaire dad sues wedding plannersThe star, who tied the knot with Nicola Peltz in April 2022, said that his English Breakfast sandwich was inspired by his Nanny Peggy, who taught him the recipe. “My Nanny Peggy taught me how to make her English Breakfast sandwich when I was five, and it’s been my favourite ever since,” he said.
Despite being born to two of the most famous couples on the planet, Posh and Becks, Brooklyn made his desire to work known from an early age. In 2014, at the age of just 16, Brooklyn bagged himself a weekend job at a West London coffee shop, earning £2.68 an hour as a barista.
Football legend David, who is well-known for his own impressive work ethic, has previously spoken about passing this attribute down to his children. Speaking with HuffPost in 2013, David, 48, said: "We try to lead by example, by showing them it's important to work hard. That's one of the key things me and my wife have always done, (both) before we had children, and now we have four children."
"I've done that throughout my footballing career and I'll continue to do it outside. We juggle everything around the family because our main priority is the children, simple as that, and it always will be, but being hardworking is the best thing you can show children."
Brooklyn's Uber Eta menu, which has prices starting at £10, is available in London between 25 and 26 January.
