Footage from Conor McGregor's acting debut in the remake of Road House has shown him headbutting Jake Gyllenhaal in an action scene.

UFC legend McGregor is appearing in a remake of the 1989 classic alongside Hollywood star Gyllenhaal. The film will be released on March 21 and its first trailer has now appeared online with footage from some of McGregor's scenes. One clip shows McGregor, who plays Knox, storm into a bar and say “Hey fellas, looks like you’re having a smashing night! Dalton, I’ve got a tip for you. Don’t let no-one get this close."

Gyllenhaal, who plays Dalton, is then headbutted by McGregor as a brawl proceeds to break out. McGregor can be seen driving a sports car in another scene and he says in another “Once Knox is on the job it’s over baby.” McGregor boasted there isn't anything he can't do whilst tweeting out the trailer to promote the film.

Gyllenhaal and McGregor made surprise appearances at the UFC 285 weigh-ins last year to film a scene of their movie. Moments after Jon Jones stepped on the scale for his world title fight against Ciryl Gane, McGregor came out and announced Gyllenhaal would be having a mock weigh-in with UFC veteran Jay Hieron for one of the scenes.

Gyllenhaal appeared at the fight night the following day to record a fight scene in front of 20,000 fans at the T-Mobile Arena as McGregor watched on from cageside. The Irishman is gearing up for his octagon return against Michael Chandler later this year and UFC boss Dana White dismissed talks of the fight taking place in June despite McGregor announcing it for the month.

"No, when Conor is ready to fight, you know we’ll announce it. That’s what we’ll do," White said. Chandler is confident that he will fight McGregor in the summer and has credited his rival for always sticking true to his word. McGregor recently moved closer to his comeback by submitting his first drug testing samples of the year under the UFC's new programme.
