Molly-Mae Hague ignites spiteful debate among fans over Bambi's first birthday
Molly-Mae Hague has been defended by her fans over bitter remarks from trolls relating to baby daughter Bambi’s first birthday.
The 24-year-old former Love Island contestant is the proud mother of one-year-old Bambi - who she shares with boxing star fiancé Tommy Fury. On Tuesday, the young couple posed with their daughter while surrounding her with balloons, cakes and decorations as they marked one year since her birth.
Molly-Mae and 24-year-old Tommy even used the event to send a clear sign to fans that their romance is still rock solid - after it was shaken last year when he partied in Vegas without her. But Molly-Mae was savaged by online trolls when she welcomed fans and social media followers into Bambi’s birthday celebrations.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the reality star shared a string of photos and a video of herself and Tommy showering Bambi with affection - and sugary treats. Molly-Mae posed in one photo with Bambi smiling in her arms while they stood in the kitchen.
She shared the images with a caption stating: “My one year old. Happy first Birthday to my little girl…I love you more every single day. You’re so beyond special Bambi... I’m so proud to call you my daughter.”
Molly-Mae hints at showing baby in her first YouTube as she teases special videoPhotos showed Bambi sitting in a high chair while surrounded by balloons and black and white portraits of her while she munched on a cake. Other snaps showed off mountains of cupcakes and two white birthday cakes - one featuring a swan design on top. Further photos and a video showed Molly-Mae and Tommy posing with a more colourful cake - and there was a family portrait of the trio together; Molly-Mae and Tommy locking lips with Bambi sat in front of them.
But some social media followers took aim at the images to complain that all the decorations were white and lacking colour. One disgruntled follower barked: “abit of colour in her life wouldn’t go amiss, babies and children need colour for so many reason.”
And a further follower remarked: “Why’s everything so boring tho? White white pristine white.. where’s the colour? Especially for a baby it doesn’t look like a birthday.”
But those leaving negative comments were met with fierce defence from Molly-Mae’s more devout fans - with many hitting back at the critics. One fan hit back at a negative follower to brand them a “bitter soul”. And another clapped back at another, writing: “have a chat with yourself and I bet that’s boring too!!”
Another fan remarked: “there's so much love in them pictures your clearly colour blind.” While a more literal fan pointed out: "the fourth and last slide literally have a colored cake... y’all didn’t see it?" alongside a string of face-palming emojis. And another rightly declared: "why does it matter she's one do you think she will remember it?"
Earlier this month, Molly-Mae declared that she wanted to have one million more children with Tommy - but with the impossible caveat that they be born as fully-formed one-year-olds. She said in a video blog: “I know you might judge me for saying this but if I could have a baby and it come out how Bambi is now, like this stage and age, I would have a million babies.
"I am so obsessed with this stage. The pros are so much more than the cons at this stage. This is my motherhood era, this is what I dreamt motherhood would be like. I am enjoying being a mum so much at the minute.”
She added: “I just feel really grateful I'm in a really good place. But of course the ups and downs come fast.”
