Parents dumbfounded by list of baby names rejected by New Zealand government

Parents were left scratching their heads after a list of baby names rejected by the New Zealand government was released. Many folks look to websites and books for unique and popular names when deciding what to call their newborns, but some prefer to choose something utterly distinctive.
In certain parts of the world, some names are outright banned. For instance, in Sweden, names like Ikea, Veranda, Superman, Elvis, and Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116 (pronounced Albin) have all been turned down. Similarly, in Portugal, Heidi, Tom, Jenny, and Charlotte were deemed too foreign-sounding and didn't make the cut.
The Registrar-General of Births, Deaths, and Marriages in New Zealand, according to Te Tari Taiwhenua Department of Internal Affairs, has now revealed its list of most frequently declined names. Shared on a Reddit naming group, parents worldwide were baffled by some of the choices. The list of prohibited names includes:

After the list was revealed, people were quick to share their thoughts. One person said: "Meanwhile, just another day in nurseries across America. American parents would be out of luck in New Zealand for real."
Another added: "I work in early childhood education in a major US city, can confirm I've seen at least one of every one-word royalty name listed here, plus Reign on its own. Messiah is also extremely popular." And someone else shared: "Justus and Isis are both real, very old names. Those should have been allowed in my opinion."
