Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle has been spotted at a public event supporting a fellow Scot.

The singer made an unexpected appearance during the first leg of the Gladiators reboot. The 62-year-old was seen with contestant Kerry Wilson, who won her round and secured a spot in the semi-finals. Kerry shared a photo of them together on Instagram, writing: "What a night with the best family and friends at the 'Watch Party' that was some show @bbcgladiators put on!!!!"

She added: "I even had a celebrity guest wanting to come watch too thanks for coming Susan. We enjoyed every minute of that episode!!" Supporters quickly filled the comment section with praise. One fan wrote: "This is EVERYTHING! well done beautiful! Holding your own and Sabre's body weight on hang tough is insane!"

Another said: "If I had known Susan was there I would have attended!" Others expressed their excitement for Kerry's upcoming quarter-final. Last month Susan reunited with US singer Donny Osmond, who she collaborated with on her fourth studio album, Standing Ovation: The Greatest Songs From The Stage, back in 2012.

Susan shot to fame three years prior after she placed second on Britain's Got Talent. Donny took to his Instagram where he posted a photo of the pair smiling together backstage at Glasgow's Hydro Arena before he'd pulled her into an impromptu duet during his show.

He wrote: "In Glasgow, Scotland and low and behold, guess who showed up to my concert? My dear friend, Susan Boyle! She was waiting in one of the dressing rooms backstage to go out to the audience and I heard this angel voice in the hallway. I walked up to the door and..."

Donny then shared a hilarious video of him surprising Susan, after hearing her belting out a few chords from inside the small room. "I shouldn't do this but..." he whispered to the camera, before pressing his ear against the door. Donny then burst into the room and exclaimed, "There she is! She's so pretty, she's so pretty," to a seemingly unruffled Susan.

Susan also returned to the stage last year where she joined the Les Misérables West End cast to perform 'I Dreamed a Dream' on Britain's Got Talent, which is the song she chose to audition for the talent competition in 2009. Susan opened up to hosts Ant and Dec about her recent health struggles, which had made her step away from the limelight.

Declan Donnelly asked her how it felt to be back, as she said: "It feels great! It's extra special for me actually because last April there I suffered a minor stroke and I thought it would be crazy to be back on stage and I have done it!"
