There are so many things that make living in Australia amazing - from the weather, friendly locals and the laidback lifestyle, through to affordable healthcare and a high living standard.

But now one expat has shared her favourite thing about living Down Under - and it's an unusual one! Brit Jordana Grace has shared a video revealing one of the things she loves most about the Sunshine Coast in Australia, and received a huge response.

Jordana has admitted she was surprised to see everyone leaving the shoes behind at the entrance to the beach, describing the realisation that no one would steal them as a 'culture shock'.

"Things they need to tell you before travelling to Australia, a little beach thing that just makes my day," she said in an online video.

"I don't know if this is the same around Australia but here in the Sunshine Coast, you leave your shoes by the beach and they're still there when you get back and I just love it."

Several Aussies took to the comments to respond, confirming they do the same thing and calling it an 'unwritten rule' of the beach. "Happens here down in South Australia to all the beaches around me," one wrote. "Can confirm it's a fact," said a second, while a third added: "I mean, who's gonna take them?!"

But others were not convinced. "Maybe on quieter beaches, 25 years ago I left my sparkly jellies near Bondi sea pool, came out of the water and they were gone. have never recovered!" "Hahahah until someone steals them," responded another TikTok user, as a third warned: "Yep it's a thing - however do this with caution, my ones were stolen. They were my nice ones so that’s probably why but my $2 blue ones going strong!"

It comes after an influencer went viral for sharing everything she 'hates' about Australia, having spent time in both Perth and Sydney.

Speaking to her TikTok followers in a viral video, Only Fans model Lo Swo said: "I just spent ten days in Australia and I have words." At first she was complimentary about the country and praised its 'clean and fresh' air, however soon she listed her pet peeves, one of which was the amount of flies.

Lo went on to say that she was also not a fan of the country's nightlife. She explained: "Nothing is open past 7 or 8pm, all the restaurants close at like 5 and then all of the stores close at like 7. Also, nothing is open on the weekends, like after midnight... Perth was like 'Mmmm, it's late, go to bed, everybody go to bed'."

She also said she had noticed a sinister side to the country, saying there were "a lot of racists like America". "A lot of Australians thought it'd be funny to compare every racist thing they would say to Mexicans, as if my partner and I would think that was funny because we're American. And I don't because most of my family lives in Mexico now. So that wasn't cool. That sucked," Lo shared.

The video has accrued more than 657,000 views online and understandably a mixed response from Aussies themselves - see it here.
