This Morning new host Sian Welby breaks silence on landing ITV role
Sian Welby has spoken out ahead of her first leading presenter spot on This Morning.
The radio star, who is currently a host on the Capital FM Breakfast show after replacing Vick Hope, is one in a long line of presenters who have stepped in to help fill the void left by Holly Willoughby. This Morning bosses have been conducting a series of live auditions to see who best fits the ITV show.
Sian took to Instagram on Sunday to share her excitement over her new role. She said: "I'm trying to be cool, calm and collected, but I'm hosting This Morning tomorrow! I can't believe this, I'm on the actual main show. I don't know who allowed this. Am I ready? Am I a liability? I'm not sure but thankfully I will be with Dermot who is a beacon of joy and an ultimate professional."
She continued: "And he's going to take me under his wing, and I feel very safe. So, yes I will be with Dermot on Monday on This Morning tune in if you want to see the carnage that could happen because honestly at this moment I don't know what is going to happen, I'm just going to wing it."
Former This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford rushed to support her friend and commented: "Go Sian!!" Regular This Morning contributor and former Made In Chelsea star Ashley James added: "Good luck Sian cannot wait to watch you."

You will be wonderful that is why you have been given this wonderful opportunity. Dermot has your back. We are all with you. Please try and enjoy it." Another added: "You'll be brilliant. Dermot will look after you, as will the whole team."
Sian was asked to present the show with Dermot after being appointed as the new entertainment expert. Rylan Clark and Ferne McCann both previously hosted the showbiz section on the programme, with Rylan going on to become a stand-in This Morning lead presenter.
Before hosting the Capital FM Breakfast show, Sian hosted her own show on Heart FM as well as presenting the Health Lottery draws and weather bulletins on Channel 5. Sian will be presenting with Dermot, who became a regular presenter with Alison Hammond after taking over from Ruth and Eamonn Holmes.
This Morning have been looking for a permanent replacement for Holly ever since she made the decision to leave the daytime show in October of last year. At the time, Holly said: "This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we've done together. I will not be returning to This Morning."
